Music news website Alternative Addiction has reported the news that Live are planning to take a break from recording and touring together as Live. "Announced via various band members' twitter pages, Live will be taking a two year hiatus to work on other projects. Several of the band members made it very clear that the break was only temporary." Ed is currently focusing on a number of solo tour dates, while Chad Taylor and Chad Gracey are recording new music together. Fans at the Birchmere (Alexandria, VA) show were lucky enough to hear Ed premiere a brand new track. The new song is titled 'Take Me Up to Zion'. Ed also performed the track the following night at the Tin Angel (Philadelphia, PA) and fortunately a keen fan managed to record a video of the peformance. According to an article on the News Askew website, Kevin Smith's upcoming upcoming movie, Zack and Miri Make a Porno, will include the unreleased Live song 'Hold Me up'. This isn't the first time that Kevin Smith has tried to use this song in one of his films. "Hold Me Up" (also known as "Spew" or "Lift Me Up") appeared in a scene in the movie Mallrats but was pulled from the final release after Live's record label did not approve its inclusion... Live's former touring keyboard player, Michael Railton, returned to the band at the Kansas City tour date on July 26th. "Railo" also performed with Live the following night in Kentucky. Friends of Live has confirmed that a DVD/CD containing performances from the June/July Amsterdam shows will be released. The DVD will feature footage from the 2 Paradiso shows as well tour video of their time in Holland.
