I saw Live my first time at college just before "Mental Jewelry" was released. They played Earth Day at Bucknell University in Pennsylvania. I had the opportunity to meet them and chat a while, as my then-boyfriend was really into them at the time. A little more than a year later, I was working at the Paradise Club in Boston when they played. I was shocked to learn they remembered me (or maybe they were just being nice). I have been a huge fan since that first outdoor show, and am troubled by Ed's behavior. I understand there are two sides to every story, but there's no denying that egos can grow very large and become utterly destructive.

I will never stop loving my boys (as I call them), and they will, to me, always be the sweet kids I met way back in 1993.

favorite lyrics: "I know that I should
Think about living and think about
Helping out and think about
Think about giving, but I
Can't seem to rescue myself."

Hi everyone - this is soooo strange! I'm Lisa and I used to haunt all the usual LIVE webspots (remember LIVEWeb and Illout board?). LIVE was a huge part of my life from 1996-2004. Favorite album - SS, hands down. Was lucky to see them play a bunch of times and even meet the band a couple times. But for the last couple years, music has fallen off the radar for me. I used to live, eat, drink, sleep and breathe music and LIVE, but that ended. And my online presence too. In fact, I wasn't even aware that LIVE had officially disbanded. But it's all come back in a last couple weeks after hearing about Ed's new album, then The Gracious Few, and then I had to have a look online to see what in the hell was up with our boys from York. This place is like a blast from the past from seeing all the familiar names from back in the day! Hey guys! It feels like home :)

Welcome (back?) Lisa! Did you used to post here (or at least on the old board) under the same name? I don't recall the name eargirl in the past.

Hello Fans of Live!

I've been a Live fan since 1994 when I first heard "Selling the Drama" on 99X in Atlanta. Then, within months, I was at my first Live concert (and first real concert ever), and knew they were something special. I barely knew the songs, but it was awesome. So what if I was singing "heyyyyyyy, house up on the riverside"! It made sense to me! But I quickly bought Throwing Copper, then Mental Jewelry, and all the rest since, and grew to love the songs.

Over the years, I was lucky enough to see 8 Live concerts, and all were great. Plenty of hits, but others too. I was disappointed to hear of the band's end, but we'll always have the music to remember and enjoy. That music will always keep Live in my top 5 favorite bands of all time.

I found this website/forum while searching about Live's 99X Live X shows, and was thrilled to see the downloads here. Thanks for sharing them, and I look forward to talking and listening to lots more.

Rock on!

Hello all, just signed up on here today. Long-time board-lurker, though.

Been a huge fan of Live since the 90's back when I was in middle school. My Trowing Copper album's booklet has long since fallen apart and the CD's pretty worn. They were my first 'big rock concert' when I saw them on the Secret Samadhi tour and are one of the bands that inspired me to pick up a guitar and write/play music. I have seen them several times since then up to their 2nd to last show in Cleveland last year.

My favorite albums are probably TC/SS and TDTH. I think those are the peaks of two different sounds: aggressive rock and uplifting/peaceful.

Although I seem to be in the minority, I am a fan of both of the new bands. Just saw Ed perform in Pittsburgh last night and was lucky enough meet him (was very friendly and seemed to be in a good mood). I also can't wait to see TGF at the same venue in November. I think the break was a good thing as regardless of what went down, everyone seems happier and enjoying their music more and it is showing in their performances compared to the last stretch of Live shows. I think everyone now has their heart into their new stuff 100% which is good for them and us fans.

Don't know how much I'll post as most of my computer time is at work (don't want to look at a monitor much more when I get home after 8 hours), but wanted to join the community and participate when I can.
