Hi There, i'm new here. I'm Jolanda and i'm from the netherlands. I've been a fan of Live for i think about 13 years. It took al while before i went to my first concert, 2001. I'm also a member of SOL and i try to go to every concert. Paradiso last year was my all time favorite. So far i've only met Ed at the fan-day last time. I really want to meet the rest to.

Hi. I'm sort of new and sort of not. I joined FOL back in the 1990s and The Live Lounge in 2001 when it started under another nick - which I now totally can't remember, so I had to rejoin with my new email address. I'd been a fan since 1994, but became really into the band in 1997. Somewhere I have a massive collection of articles in hardcopy dating from 1991 or 1992.

A lot of my favourite music is from the Mental Jewellery era, and then Throwing Copper. TC almost seemed like another band to me. Ditto SS. The band seemed to reinvent themselves with every album.

I've had a few jobs over the years that have brought me into business contact with celebrities from time to time - although never Live. I tell you this: nobody knows less about what celebrities are really like than people who post about them on the internet.

that reminds me of a joke. President bush was in a meeting with the joint chiefs of staff and the defense secretary leans over to him and whispers "sir we jost lost three brazillian soldiers in iraq".... to which the president drops to his knees, visibly devestated, then asks: "How much is a brazillian?"

Hi everyone! My name is Shelley & I'm from Ohio. I have been a Live fan since the Mental Jewelry days. I have seen them several times in concert. It's unfortunate that the band as we know it is over but I'm excited at the new projects the guys are working on. I am going to Vegas to see Ed at the Open Wings Broken Strings show and can't wait! I actually have front row tickets, along with meet & greet passes, so am super excited about the opportunity to meet an artist I have followed for years smile.gif

I have followed this website for awhile now but just signed up for an account today. I look forward to getting to know everyone here smile.gif

Alright. Why not post to the newby forum? My name is Tina, and I unfortunately cannot claim to have been a fan of Live since day 1. I came around during the Throwing Copper phase, but I only listened casually, like when the music was on the radio. Honjestly, I think I msut have not even paid attention to it much. Then sometime a few years ago, I was at a Hard Rock Cafe in Vegas, having lunch before my 52nd BOn Jovi show (its ok...Im a nut) and this video came on the monitors. HRC is always loud, but for somereason the lunchtime crowd was subdued. Anyway, this video came on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhxpY7zVki4
, and I was...the best word I can use is mesmerized. It was like all of the love and energy in the entire universe was being channeled through Ed's voice. From here, I was intent on learning more about this great band.
The journey to owning all the cd's was kind of long for me (still going on, actually) as I am very very poor. YouTube is a great place, is all I can say. Anyhow, I am not really even sure how this happened, but at some point I must have given my email to someone somewhere who connected me with Eddie's website, because I got that "free fan club" email. Honestly...I was only in one fan club ever...I jsut don't have time, you know? But I went to the site, and got the free download of Eddie doing some songs acoustically...and that, my new friends, is when it REALLY hit me how powerful this music really is, and how much of a major energy channel Eddie can be.
Well. I am headed to check out what other fans are doing and saying. Hope to hear from you soon!
Namaste
tina

Welcome Tina! That was a cool story and thanks for posting that Hard Rock Live video. It's been a while since I watched that performance.
