Worst Live lyrics?, Tell me yours! Options

I'd be interested to know what other folk would do in that situation though...stick or skip?

Wings is the only song I have ever let play in my car from that album. I won't let anyone hear anything else. I play V with pride though and half of BoP. ALL of DoaD.

Oh I didn't mean embarrassed now .. I'm talking about when they get older. If my Dad had written so many great songs before like Ed has and then the one I get is just .. well THAT .. I dunno, I couldn't help be feel embarrassed. It's a really, really bad song .. like I say the intention is good, but the execution is just painful.
It's not about whether you have children or not ... if I had kids and wanted to write a song for them I would try to actually write a good one, you know.

I disagree. I think the songs intention was to be simple. I think of a father telling a short story to his kids when i hear it. I don't think it's bad and for a simple song, I think the execution is pretty decent.

It has very unique and strange clarity to it. The acoustics aren't bad and i find it slightly catchy. The only problem I have with the song is when Ed sings the line "shines shines shines...shines shines shines, love it shines shines shines...love shines."

Other than that, I think the song is ok. It's delivery is how it was meant to be, simple and soothing. While I don't thinks it's a great song, it's certainly nowhere near horrible in my book. I think Ed's voice is utterly perfect in this song, but some of the lyrics and music cancel some of that out. As for the title, I really wouldn't give a flying fuck about what anybody thought of it. I'm proud of the guy for writing a love song to his girls and having the audacity to say it out loud in the title. good on you Eddy boy.

I wouldn't skip it in front of anybody, nor would I for Show. But then again, what other people think has never meant sweet fuck all to me anyhow. Everybody but my mom and my two girls are simply insignificant to me in the grand scheme of things...

I think Heaven was a fine song written for his children, I know they carry different messages ... but I can tolerate Heaven, even though it doesn't speak to me I think not being hatful towards it shows it's definitely not the subject matter I am concerned with, again it's just the execution.

I think eds voice is the best I've heard it in ten years in that song. Don't care for the backing vocals much either though.

"Love Shines (A Song For My Daughters About God)" also has to be the worst title Ed has ever come up with.

You have to be kidding me - Love Shines is a very inspiring song tite like They Stood Up For Love.

Although I hate to admit it sometimes, almost every song on V can be on this list. "Transmit Your Love" is absolutely embarrassing: With Live its game seven every single night.

OMG DIAF! That one line in the song may not be great, but transmit your love is an awesome song. The stunning lyric from that is "Transmit your love to me and silenty make me whole again" It's frickin awesome.

Sparkle is a pretty gay title for a song if I didn't mention it already. The song itself, especially the extended version, is awesome. Face and ghost is notable because they were actually being creative using a choir in there. Whenever live does something different, even if it sucks, I take notice. I like FaG (lol) though so... roffles I can't even finish this sentence.

I hope the kids end up looking to Heaven as the song for them... I would be proud to have that song.

Never saw this thread before, not sure how I missed it, BUT:

Heaven was only written about the one daughter. The second one came along and we got that other piece of crap. Do you think the second daughter will be pissed at some point in her life that her older sister got the better song?
