I wonder why on Earth no Dutchies ever mention one of the best bands in the world a balladeer as one of their faves!

I will complain about it to Marinus! lol.gif

Hey kids! The name's Alysia. I've been an "active" live fan since. . . I believe I was in 8th grade. Throwing Copper was new and Lightning Crashes was on the radio. Between that and I Alone (along with Selling the Drama), I was eternally hooked.

I will admit that there was awhile in there that I lost interest. At the time The Distance to Here was released, I was unable to "cope" with a lot of the songs on that album. Honestly, it just didn't do it for me. And then, neither did V. I remember vividly listening to it for the first time and laughing - YES, LAUGHING - with embarrassment and shame for Live. I'm not kidding. I'm sorry to be saying it now, as I have since grown and molded into an even greater-than-ever-before Live fan. I think (maybe, don't know) that it was something I needed a certain level of musical and emotional maturation to appreciate. Does that make sense?

Anyway, am currently hooked on The Dam at Otter Creek, Hero of Love, and Deep Enough (can you get a more eclectic mix?). Oh, along with Indie Hair (which is fondly adored by my 7-year-old son; I'm growing a new generation of Live fans).

I've only had the opportunity to see them once, and that was in July of last year in Indianapolis along with Counting Crows and Collective Soul.

I feel like I'm writing too much, but if there's a place to do it, I guess it's here, right?

I guess that'll do it for now. I've got a ton of questions, as I prolly didn't spend enough time lurking and investigation before jumping right in, so I'll more than likely be able to answer a lot of them for myself.

HELLO ALL LIVE FANS ! ! ! ! ! It is great to have a community.

Heehehehe.....me too. My daughter is 7 and she has most of Live's music on her PC. She has a Live shirt that matches mine. In the car on trips we each get to choose a song. I will listen to live and my husband sighs with irritation when she requests Live too!!!! She knows most of the words to the songs and sings with total abandon!

Ethan and Owen too. They are 5 and 7 years old and belong to my best friend who's also a major fan!!!!

So...alysia....join the club!

Hey all, I'm Beth and I've been a fan for most of my life.

I've been inactive in the community for a while and am working to change that.

I first found out about live waaaaay back in the days of my youth when Operation Spirit was on 120 minutes. Been following them ever since.

I'm pretty much die hard though real life has lately prevented me from getting to concerts (Stupid work)

I'm 30 years old and live outside Philadelphia.

I'm hoping to see Live overseas and in vegas at least once before I die.

hi.gif Hi, my name is Joe and I'm from Kansas City. 25 year old community college student who is considering becoming a church pastor (the good kind that will drink beer and bullshit with you after church) and in the meantime I am a struggling singer/songwriter. kicking.gif

I started listening to LIVE back in the Throwing Copper days. I had heard "Lightning Crashes" on the radio and watched the video on MTV as many times as they would play it. Alsmost everybody I knew had the CD but my parents wouldn't let have my own copy until I was almost in High School...and then when I finally got it they got mad because I wouldn't let them borrow it when they wanted to listen to it. Then one day I told them they could borrow it if they would buy me Secret Samadhi thumbsup.gif I was basically obsessed at that point. Full addiction I would say...yet I never got the chance to see a show.

Then I started listening to other stuff (Dylan, Grateful Dead, Tom Waits, pretty much anything and everything) and basically forgot all about LIVE omg.gif tear.gif

BUT! then I went to see Zack and Miri happy.gif I think it is what they call a relapse. I found all my old LIVE CDs and got the ones I was missing. Just in case that wasn't enough yesterday I started reading some of J. Krishnamurti's books for further insight. I always knew that Ed's lyrics were deep, but just not how deep they really were.
