Regardless of what anyone thinks about V (I just think if you like the band there must be at least a couple of songs on there that you like.

Wait, why? The hell....you still havent answered me about this. Someone can like Live without enjoying any songs on V....or is it blasphemy to not like an album and still consider oneself a fan? There's no reason why hating one album should classify someone as not being a "fan" or not being someone who "likes Live".

Live333, Ha, ha...... Britney's all bad lol.gif

I don't care that you spelt my name wrong so no need to apologise and I'm not indignant (and was not when I posted). It doesn't matter to me if we agree or not, we are all entitled to our opinions but we can at least discuss it?
My point was that whether or not an album is, or is not, "good" is not necessarily reflected by album sales, and I don't hate V, but I sure don't love it either. You brought up being a self respecting Live fan and an 18 line reply is hardly a novel (at least not when I went to school tongue.gif ). Personally, I'd like another album like SS but that's just what I like .... maybe we'll get lucky and get an album we ALL like?

One (that being me) may assume that if you like a band you'll generally like something off an album they put out. For Live and any other band that I follow I don't think I have ever not liked something off an album. I know sometimes when you have an emotional attachment to something sometimes you try harder to like it even if that is not your initial reaction. But the reason that you are a fan of something is that there is something intrinsic that you like about it. V is not Live's best album, but be it something like the dynamic of the band that still comes through which still connects, whereas bands like U2 which I like, I don't feel any where near as compelled by their music and I don't connect as much, so even though they are seemingly going gang busters I still don't feel as connected with them as I do live

With ya on SS, can anyone enlighten me as to what Live's problem is with it or am I imagining that they have a problem with it. They don't seem to be proud of it nor embrace it nor play much off it at shows, I've only ever heard LJ and turn my head, although I didn't go to SS tour and I know they played rattlesnake at all three melbourne shows (was just a bit pissed angry.gif )

I have a question for all you folks, How many of you have been to one of the concerts this tour? were you moved? did they dissapoint?

I know that they didn't dissapoint here in Durban! I think that they were more passionate about their music than ever! granted they hardly played any songs off of BOP and V and only 2 off of SFBM.

They are still able to perform and hopefully they are able to see, from the response that they got, that we still want them to continue.

I agree that SFBM and BOP were not their best attempts, but hopefully they will "catch a wake up" and put the same amount of effort/time/creativity into their next album.

So, as for them quitting, HELL NO!! for all I care they can carry on touring using material from MJ, TC, SS & TDTH. but if and when they decide to release another album, lets hope that they do it properly!!

Exactly...it's your personal taste. FOR YOU, every album by the bands you enjoy the most will have at least one song on them that you like. However, this cannot be said for everyone. Just because you automatically like something on every album from all your favorite bands (something I find a bit hollow, but hey, it's your taste), doesn't mean everyone else does, including people on this board.

pheezy pheezy pheezy !

While I'm still a huge Live fan, I appreaciate your long post because you want that the things you have to say are clear to everyone. I not always like your post, but you take the time to make clear what you think.

Although I'm not as critical on Live as you are (I like more of the new stuff than you do, I guess), I once asked you what songs you did like of Live and to which one you listen sometimes.(and you told me)
BUt now I'm wondering about the next question...which Live songs do you think ARE creative than, or original, or wel written, or anything. I once had a conversation with you about Lakini's Juice, cause you told me that wasn't anything original at all. Whearas I thought it was one of the more creative songs made by Live.
Do you think Live has brought us anything creative at all? And if they did, which songs?

thanks if you can take the time to comment, lookin'forward to read that

This is a good question.

I haven't listened to live much at all lately, so it's difficult for me to think of much that I could use in response to this off the top of my head.

I appreciate the question though, and I'll try to listen to a few songs that I think would be appropriate to mention and then I'll get back to you.

Well guys - All things, good or bad, must come to an end. Just as this boards inevitable demise falls upon us, so will Live s long and tumultuous career.

Unfortunately for NectarDan, he is offering to sell this board in a down-market that no longer highly values Live. Surely he places high sentimental value on this fansite and will not get the monetary offer he is looking for. It is further sad that the rare songs Dan referred to in his speech will forever sit in his vault for this very reason.

gg, Live.

Yeah they still rock in concert but the music they release has been sucking for quite a while now. As a result their attendance dwindles. The only way for them to gain any momentum again with the general music listening audience is to release something worth buying.

Until then, they further sink into a whole of irrelevance.

i think Songs from Black Mountain is a lot better than Birds of Pray... i guess u either like the new stuff or not... but all bands change... look at U2, etc... gotta move with the times. The guys are older now, more spiritual i guess. You can see a lot of influences of their new lives in their new tracks... like Ed having children...etc etc

i dont think they are anymore spiritual now than they were 15 years ago. One of the main reasons I was intrigued by throwing copper was the way in which they blended religious themes with guitar driven rock. In fact these themes have run fairly consistently throughout their discography right up to now. Whats changed is their attitude towards music
