QUOTE(Voodoo Lady @ Apr 19 2014, 5:27 pm) *

Hi +Live+ fans. My name is Cindy. I'm a 38 yo hair metal fan that happened to see Operation Spirit on MTV back in the day and +Live+ was totally unlike anything I'd ever seen. They were mysterious to me & I had to get the album. From there I rocked Throwing Copper and Secret Samadhi all through my college years & those two are still in my top ten list of best albums of all time. Like many other fans, the latter albums don't do much for me, although in all weirdness some of my favorite +Live+ songs come from those albums such as Voodoo Lady, Where the Fishes Go, Like I Do... Go figure. And Heaven and Mystery are in my playlist too. Sadly, I never got to see +Live+ in concert, something I am in mourning over. I don't know how it happened... Too poor to go while in college and then my first teaching job relocated me from St. Louis area to San Antonio TX (where I currently reside), a place where I don't think +Live+ or Ed have ever played in their existence!? I'd love to see Ed solo, just because. Where I stand on that whole thing is, I don't mind if he now says, "what a man was 10,000 years ago means everything to me." But I can't stomach his new solo stuff, and to think that the same man who rocked my face off with "White Discussion" now sings a song like "Seven" makes me very, very sad. I miss the old Ed. He was my boo. I've tried to listen to the new Shinn +Live+ and just can't seem to finish the You Tube vid before I have to turn it off. I miss the other boys too and that makes me sadder. Maybe one day... Never say never... The old VH1 show "Bands Reunited" needs to come back on air and work some magic with +Live+.
With that said, I'm glad to be here. I've actually lurked in this site for years; come here to get the latest news & all. Other than my job & my kids, music is life. Rock on. rockin.gif

Welcome to the board! I think generally speaking, most Live fans are in the same boat as yourself. Unfortunately I don't think the original four will ever get together again. sad.gif

Hello Everyone!

My name is Heather, age 30, from a DFW suburb in the good ol' state of TX. Although I'm new to this forum, I'm definitely not a new LIVE fan! I guess you could say I've technically been a fan since age 9 in 1994 after first hearing one of my favorite LIVE songs (and of all time for that matter), Selling the Drama, and rest was history!

My first LIVE CD purchase was Throwing Copper in high school, which like many has been in consistent rotation in my life. Throughout my journey and love of music, LIVE has always been a favorite, however for various reasons I wasn't paying as much attention to the band at certain points over the years. Sadly, I never got to see them live in concert facepalm.gif (however catching up on YouTube has been great fun). Thankfully, I recently got to see Ed perform at the House of Blues in Dallas for the TC 20th Anniversary tour and LOVED it. It's amazing how that music means so much to so many and still translates today as very important and moving. And that voice....one of the best in music IMO.

I have to say it's a strange feeling mourning the break up of the band and the original 4 members not being together but also jumping up and down with excitement and joy in re-discovering them as of late. I'm holding out hope for a reunion some day smile.gif

I genuinely wish the absolute best and happiness for all members in what ever they do--they are all such great musicians, have a tremendous legacy and mean so much to so many of us fans.

Cheers!

Hi, I'm late to the party - I only just found this message board recently.

I live in Melbourne, Australia. I have been a fan of Live since Throwing Copper but after the 90s, I didn't hear much of them. I saw them play again last year when they toured with Def Leppard. I was sceptically at first but I gave them a chance and I loved Chris and The Turn.

Guess I'm in the minority around here - oh well...

Hello, my name is Mark. I'm 34 years old and live near the New Orleans, LA area. I've been a fan of Live ever since I heard them back in the 90's. I got the Throwing Copper cassette for my birthday either in 94 or 95.

I've always loved that album, but in the last few years I have discovered how much I truly love their music. I've found tracks that I never heard and it's just so powerful. I know they will never recapture the magic they had back then.. I think it was a case of right place right time.

I am by far the biggest Live fan I know, and hoping to hang around here and just bs about the music and the good old days. Nothing takes me back like Selling The Drama. I can close my eyes and feel like I am instantly back in the past.

Anyway, enough heady stuff. I look forward to chatting with fellow fans! rockin.gif

Unregistered lurker for a few years, noticed the band's website and social media activity (or lack thereof), figured/hoped now was as good a time as any to setup an account.

I remember Mental Jewelry from when I was a freshman in high school (I'm now 39). My favorite albums are the first four + DOAD, but I didn't see them perform until they were touring V with Counting Crows. I saw Ed solo shortly after BOP as well.

I'm in Michigan, working on a PhD.

Anyway, lol - Hello!

Hi
I am a South African +Live+ fan living in London now.
I saw live in Johannesburg in 2003 (opening act was Prime Circle) and 2006 (Opening act - Parlotones). I also saw them at the 46664 concert in 2007.
They remain the best concerts I have attended. Just one big sing along all the way.
I've followed Ed's solo career and enjoyed some of The Gracious few's songs. It is amazing that they have been going for so long. I wasn't surprised that they needed to give each other breathing room for a while.
I have enjoyed how the music has matured and have a special appreciation for Ed's lyrics and the journey he has allowed listeners to take with him.

Thank you for this forum, the multimedia section is a special area to keep up with shows and also take trips down nostalgia lane.

Paul
