I think what has also changed is their willingness to create and to push themselves to make powerful music. I don't think anyone here can question that there is more heart and passion in a song like Stage or Gas Hed than in friggen' Out to Dry or Home or whatever.

I don't know if Ed's comment means they're going to do a 180, but I do believe he was mostly talking out of his ass on that one. I think he also just meant it in context of comparing Throwing Copper to Secret Samadhi. I desperately do want to believe they can revert back to older sounds, like you say, but wishful thinking only leaves you disappointed in the end.

Why, oh why crustyclown80, why in the world would you think people would believe such a message. There is not a single reason why to suppose Live is gonna quit!
1. Just before the release of SFBM (it was already finished at that time), Ed told in an interview with a dutch music magazine that people must not be surprised if Live was gonna be experimental again in the future. You understand? FUTURE. Live has a future...
2. Ed promised on several performances in the SFBM-Tour to come back soon at that place. How the hell are they gonna come back there if they quit ??
3. Chad Gracey told in an interview that they hadn't discided yet if the next album (no.8, without counting Awake) will be more rockin' or not. Again, this fact shows us there will be a new album.
4. Speculations about a new Live DvD...I know, we heard it many times that a DvD was coming, but Ed said in march this year at a dutch radio station that one of the points by switching to Epic was that they wanted to release a live dvd.
5. As a final reason why it is ridiculous to think Live will quit, remember Ed's passion about the new music. His passion is still there man, not less than it used to. Maybe many fans don't like the stuff Ed is excited about, but you can't deny the fact that he is totally stunned by what he (or Live) has done with the new album. Remember all the interviews. Check out Ed's comment on the SFBM dvd about the songs of the album Maybe nobody wants that, but it will be a very good reason to write more albums (like SFBM or totally different, I can't say).

So like it or not, but Live/Ed is (in their/his own view) more ALIVE than ever, I think.

By the way, I never posted this thread. I had one with this title but it did not have a poll. I don't know how my name got on it.

So now that Live's current tour is over, do they take a break or just fold up and retire? Any thoughts?

And I just read in another thread that the members of the band apparently come here from time to time. I doubt this, but if it's true I hope they see this and know that I hate them.

Hate is a pretty strong word isn't it? What have they personally ever done to you to inspire hatred?

They've made music so terrible that it's offended and angered me on a very deep, personal, and emotional level.

So why listen??

I don't, but the mere fact that such music exists makes me hate the world.
