Well I just got back from the concert, royally pissed, but I guess it's my fault. They wouldn't let me on the f%^#in field because I didn't have a "field general admission" ticket, I had a regular general admission ticket. When I ordered tickets GA popped up and I assumed that was it. I mean general admission is general admission, not for the triple plays.

Long story short I was stuck in the stands where it completely blowed. I felt like I was listening to one of their concert recordings while in the hot outdoors. I could see them, but it didn't have the vibe of a +Live+ show at all. People around me were talking, not paying attention to the band, or being considerate at all.

Collective Soul was exactly as expected from the reviews on this forum. Their lead singer did the cheesy"Tell your friends and family you saw Collective Soul line." They had a few rocking out moments, but in all honesty I couldn't gauge them well at all from my shitty stand seats. I couldn't even focus on +Live+ so you can imagine my lack of concentration with them.

+Live+ performed an average set, pretty much the same set list from recent shows. I'm sure it was a much better experience closer to the stage. Ed might have been reading this site from his hotel room because towards the begining of the show he asked if it was "Hot enough, should I take my shirt off, that's not illegal here is it? He didn't take it off during LC, which was good cause the people were into that song. He took it off between LC and LJ.

That's all for now, I can post more details about the show later. I'm off to Photoshop a ticket that will get me into the field tomorrow.

Let me start by saying that I went to the Dayton show on 7/27 and thought it was a really good show even though cut short due to rain. Last night's show was AMAZING!! We arrived at the venue at 4:45 and got in line for early entry. We saw Ryan and Joel from Collective Soul walking right outside the doors. Collective Soul did a meet and greet before the show and had a
seperate line set up for their fans. We didn't get in until 5:10 because CC was doing a sound check and the promoter wouldn't let anyone on the field until they were done. We got in and down onto the field and up against the rail between CT and Adam. It was about 95 degrees and beyond with the heat index. At 6:30, Collective Soul came on. There were a lot of CS fans there and the band seemed to have a good rapport with them. They seemed to move around a little more on stage than the last show. They played about a 7 song set and were off by 7:15. Live came on about 7:35 and they were ready to go from the start. They all looked great-all in t-shirts and jeans since it was so flipping hot. Ed greeted everyone after The River and said that it was "Kentucky Freaking Hot" and it was! The guys had sweat pouring off of them but they were having a great time. 13 song set-nothing new/same setlist as the 8/1 show. Before they came out, one of their road guys-maybe Kory or Zach-?- came out and one of my friends commented that he had the same shirt on and he asked if we were Live fans and if anyone knew the setlist from the last show. Being the dork that I am, I had printed it to keep track for this show. I handed it to him and he said "Yeah-same setlist tonight unless they changed it and didn't tell me." Got a smile from CT!! Some drunk chick pushed her way up front and was jumping around, elbows flying and hair going everywhere. I was about to snap a picture of CT, and she stepped in my way and I stepped away from "the hair" rolled my eyes. Looked up and CT was smiling and shook his head. Great show, great energy and easy to see they were enjoying themselves. I think they were kind of surprised at all of the LIVE fans right up front! One of my friends caught Gracey's drum stick and it was battered and abused but treasured! Can't wait to see them again for show #4!

I went with two friends and one of their boyfriends, and we had two field tickets and two GA stands and they wouldn't let the others come down too, which sucked. I'm surprised, because it wasn't that full down there! But we had fun on the field, the concert was much better I imagine down there. I didn't feel too bad about one of my friends having to stay in the stands because she forgot her ticket and we had to drive back, and we completely missed Collective Soul (not an uncommon situation for her). Her boyfriend was driving like 40 miles per hour until he started seeing how irate me and our other friend were getting, so he started to drive faster-- so thankfully, gramps didn't cause us to miss Live or Counting crows. The friend I was on the field with is crazy about Counting crows, and I love Live so we had a blast! I've seen counting crows with goo goo dolls at riverbend and I thought they sucked completely then, but were pretty good last night in comparison! I thought Live did a great job too. I'm sort of dissapointed I didn't get to see Collective Soul. Overall a decent concert, shorter set lists suck completely though!! BTW whoever complained of the shirt thing is crazy
