I wasn't a big fan of Collective Soul at all. I thought that their songs were slower than they should have been or something. It was weird set. Thought Live was very good on the other hand. It was crowded but the crowd wasn't as good as Starland the other night. Towards the encore there was a bit of distortion on a few verses of songs, otherwise the band was on all night. Ed seemed particuarly excited and his voice was spot on again!!! The band also replaced White Discussion with Operation Spirit, which was a nice surprise.

I'm a fan of both Live and Collective Soul, but I have to say that Collective Soul took the prize last night. Their sound was well-balanced and tight while Live was too heavy on the bass and seemed somewhat out of synch. Then there is the issue of the setlist, very poorly chosen in my opinion. Collective Soul played all of the songs that people know and love, with a few new songs thrown in. Live, on the other hand, had about 8 songs in a row that were NOT big hits by any stretch, which is when some people started leaving. The encore ALMOST made it worth staying to the end. I've seen Live in the past and enjoyed them, but this time they didn't live up to my expectations.

I attended the show last month and all I can say is WOW. Live really rocked the house. I'm a big fan of Wings and Mystery and the band played both to perfection. Collective Soul was an okay opening act but I felt they were less than inspired performance-wise. I would not pay to see them headline, but I think they contributed to the bill nicely in a support role. Overall I had an amazing night! Live certainly lives up to their name.
