This was my tenth time seeing Live and I was very excited to see them in Wildwood. The crowd was kind of dead at first, but it picked up right in the middle and didn't die down. I met these cool guys who were into Live's music. I believe one of them was at their 15th show, the other at his 8th and two of them at their first. They were alot of fun. It's always more fun when you got people who know the words and rock out. They kept screaming for the song "Paper Flowers." lol. Ed's voice was ok tonight. I don't think he has fully recovered yet from last week. It was just average. There were alot of high parts that he had to do low and such. I was a little surprised with the setlist. I was shocked to not hear "Mystery" or "They Stood Up For Love." It finally looks like they are switching up some of the songs every night which is cool. I like to know what they play, but than again, it's always good to be surprised once in awhile. Also, I have to mention this since Ed said that it would be on the internet. He told some story about playing at a bar in Wildwood when they were 19 and "just getting hair" on their chests. He
said they played a lot of Duran Duran covers. lol..after he said that, he said that he was just kidding and that that doing Duran Duran covers is not something to joke about. So, I had to mention that since he said it would be all over the internet. That's about it. I will now look forward to the next time.

A few comments on this show. First, I knew going in that Ed had serious voice issues about a week ago, and I wasn't expecting him to be in top form. But I was kind of shocked it was so bad......he simply strained to sing and could never open it up or even attempt anything high. The songs really suffered and it wasn't a typical Live show. I give him credit for gutting out at least a weeks worth of shows in this condition. I'm surprised the shows weren't postponed since the quality was affected so much, but I know that's easier said then done with various commitments to promoters, venues, etc. With that said, I still enjoyed this odd show at this odd venue (think high school recital) in front of a very small crowd (1,000 max and likely less). Taylor seemed like he was on a mission to make sure the crowd had a good time, and he played like a madman all nite. The look in his eye and the passion he played with kept a constant smile on my face. I know this is the norm with Chad T, but trust me, it was ratcheted up on this nite. White Discussion was insane, and I truly thought a guitar or speaker would be goners, but he restrained himself. Anyway, enuf rambling from me. I hope the band enjoys its well deserved rest this week, and that Ed heals up fast.

I saw them the night before in Reading. There was no technical difficulty and Ed's voice seemed stronger. I agree the crowd was too mellow for a beach town. I enjoyed it but wish I went up front. My husband did not want to because security said when we were up front before that we could not be up there, so we did not go up again. This was my 11th concert and I really enjoy singing back to Ed.
