Review by Dale Mulligan of Summerside, Prince Edward Island
We had such a blast at this concert. Mainly because of our proximity to the band. Our seats were row ten but we were able to walk up to the front and lean on the fence and enjoy. First of all I should say that I was really disappoined in the attendance. In a venue that holds 10,000 I would guess that there were between 2 and 3 thousand. I know it was a Sunday but still. Anyway the band did not disappoint. It was so awesome to be so close because in between songs we would talk with Chad T and Adam. At one point I said we want some Chad Taylor Stomping; he threw his head back in laughter. Another time as the show got further on I yelled we want the Amsterdam show and he smirked and kind of shook his head. If there was one critisism I would have it would be that Ed's voice and range wasn't what I have heard in the past. There were a lot of high notes that he didn't hit and a lot of pointing the mic out to the crowd for us to help him; maybe because it was the third show in three nights. My girlfriend brought a camera and had some sweet shots of them because we were so close and the next morning we came to realize that she had lost the camera. I was so pissed. Anyway, the highlight of of the show would have to be White, Discussion. Me and my buddy were yelling it all night and then when the time came Chad T came over to us and said "Are you sure you're ready for this". That really got us going. All songs were great but my favs were Walk the Line, Sofia, Lakini's, Show, Mirror Song, and of course WD. Thanks for the great show boys and please come back to the Maritimes again despite the lack of attendace.

Wow! What a great show. Things started off with a very good set from the opening act, Jeff Martin. But it wasn't until the boys finally came out that the crowd turned electric. They band seemed to have a great time the entire night (since it was Ed's birthday he made some joke about how he was "now old enough to drink", not to mention blatantly teasing the ladies during Show). Their setlist meanwhile didn't stray too much from what they have being playing over the past month. They sounded fabulous on all of the songs but, without a doubt, White, Discussion was the best performance of the night. The crowd naturally reacted more favorably to the Throwing Copper songs but all in all many seemed to enjoy the new ones as well (specifically Mystery). Voodoo Lady wasn't as appreciated as the others, Mirror Song didn't get the attention it should of, and TSUFL wasn't their best effort. I Walk the Line was loved however. Unfortunately, we weren't able to keep them on all night but, as promised, we will gladly have the band back in the Maritimes again as soon as possible.
