Hello all LIVE-fans :-)
Here is Basti; a LIVE fan from Germany - as you see this seldom LIVE-fan-species
really exists. Unfortunately I live in a region which isn't close to a LIVE-stronghold
like the Netherlands. So any opportunity to see the guys should be used because you
probably won't see them again here - at least in your lifetime.
So I packed my bags and did a trip to Erfurt (220 km away) where LIVE performed as
special guest of bon jovi. outfitted with my "Straight outta york"-tee
I walked to Steigerwaldstadium which is surrounded by a nice park. It was a beautiful
eve, a warm wind flow through the meadows and the sunset coloured all in different
nuances of red and orange. So I thought "hey, a perfect day for a LIVE concert..."
Engrossed the thoughts I forgot that LIVE wasn't headlining but all these great bon
jovi fans reminded me of. They appraised me (with my LIVE-shirt) like scientists
who observe a little green man from mars. And on their brows you could see those
thoughts: "LIVE? Who is going to play live?. Who the f*ck is LIVE?"
And so I was probably the only person who bought LIVE merchandise at this eve.*g*
So LIVE earned my 30 EUR, maybe they can invest them in promotional matters. :-)
The concert was amazing!! During the first two songs they had a bit trouble with
acoustics. But all in all they tried their best. as the setlist shows they performed
only nine songs...not enough for me, not enough to call that a LIVE concert. (so
hello LIVE management!! please, don't handle these supporting shows as concerts.
they were just promo-gigs. now there have to be some real LIVE-concerts in clubs
- or open air. if you have any problems with finding some adequate venues (approx.
100-300 spectators) then don't hesitate and drop me some lines. you aren't even with
me! :-)) )
The crowd...eh..bon jovi pack applaused as Ed announced the last song - lightning
crashes...what do I have to say more?
So the little green man went home with a smile in his face and a tear in his eye.
Lucky that he saw his all-time-favourite band for the first time and very sad - beeing
certain that they won't come back to his district.
During his return flight to mars he came to decision that next time he will use the
big rocket. Then he will make a trip to outter space stations (USA, the Netherlands,
Belgium), meet other green little men and together they will rock....
