December, 2003 News

Happy New Year to everyone!
I hope everyone has a great time ringing in the new year tonight! I want to thank everyone (especially to all the members of the Message Board) for their dedication and support to this site over the past year. Here's to a good new year with hopefully many good things to happen in Live-land. And to those attending the Live concert tonight in Tempe, we're all jealous of you! * posted december 31st, 2003

Year-end chart statistics for Heaven and Birds Of Pray
Live's current single (in the United States), "Heaven", was featured in many year-end charts for 2003. On the Radio & Records website, "Heaven" was featured on the following year-end charts... at #26 on the Hot AC Chart, at #49 on the Triple A Charts, and at #66 on the Rock Chart. On the year-end chart for The Billboard Hot 100 Singles, "Heaven" came in at #97 (it peaked at #59 on this chart earlier this year and currently stands at #567 on the All-Time list for this chart as well). On other Billboard Charts, "Heaven" peaked at... #4 on the Adult Top 40 chart, #26 on the Top 40 Tracks chart, #33 on both the Modern Rock and Mainstream Rock charts, and at #36 on the Top 40 Mainstream chart. According to the Mediabase Charts, "Heaven" was listed at #16 on the list for the top 50 most played songs in the Hot AC format for 2003. And "Heaven" continues to do well in the Hot AC format, currently standing at #14, despite having been released for over 8 months in that format (even more suprising, it is currently the 13th fastest rising song in that format, and currently has 55 more spins this week over last week). And lastly, "Birds Of Pray" came in at #59 on the year end chart for The Top 100 Albums in Australia. * posted december 31st, 2003

New single news from guitarist Chad Taylor
According to a recent diary entry from guitarist Chad Taylor on Friends Of Live, Live will be releasing a new single after the first of the new year (in the US). As mentioned in a previous news update, Ed confirmed that "Run Away" will be the new single (at the November 14th concert in Tempe, Arizona). However, as stated before, this hasn't been officially confirmed. * posted december 24th, 2003

New cover contest in the works for the new year
With a lack of new tour dates in the coming months, along with the current lack of news updates, I thought it would be a good idea to start a new cover contest on the site, to keep things active. I'm aiming to start accepting submissions around the beginning of next year. Rules and deadlines have yet to be established. Have any ideas for the new cover contest? I'd appreciate some input, so if you do, please post your feedback in this thread on the message board, or send me an e-mail. Thanks in advance! * posted december 17th, 2003

Overseas tour comes to an end / Live look ahead to the new year
Dates for Live's recent outing in South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand have come to an end. Fans who talked with band members at recents show report that Live will be taking a break after the New Year's Eve show in Arizona, and plan on beginnng work for Album 7 next year. However, there is still no word as to whether Live will be touring the US before beginning work on their new album. I have added the setlists and a bunch of fan reviews from all of the recent shows to the Setlist & Review Section. Friends Of Live has also posted a bunch of tour diary entries by Chad Taylor to the Tour Diary section on their site. Have a review or pictures that you want to contribute to the site? If so, please send them my way and I will post them to the site (make sure to include the date of the concert, your full name, and your location). * posted december 17th, 2003
