Just uploaded some of my pictures from the show, which of course was great! Nothing unusual in the setlist. they didnt play voodoo lady, mirror song or rattlesnake, which kind of sucked. they only played for about an hour and a half, but loads of energy, great performance

More to come...

for now, here are some pics: http://www.flickr.com/photos/42443995@N00/show/

I am a volunteer at Ottawa Bluesfest, and I saw the Live show tonight.

I had heard a few of their songs on the radio, so I was excited to see them in concert. I'm also a dyed-in-the-wool Johnny Cash fan. I call myself a fan, most people say I'm obsessed (and they might actually be right). I had heard their rendition of 'I Walk The Line' before and I LOVED it, so needless to say, I couldnt keep my feet on the ground long enough, as I was jumping up and down (which is quite a feat considering I have two bad knees which hinders my WALKING a lot of the time) when they announced they were going to do the song.

Overall, I was VERY impressed with the show. I had never seen them in concert before, and I would go and see them again if they came back.

The Ottawa Sun has a review of the Bluesfest in their 7/13/06 issue. It is featured at their online site, OttawaSun.com. The article was mostly about Nelly Furtado as she opened for Live. They said in their review that perhaps she should have been the headliner due to the major success of her third cd. However, they also said, "And it is a little hard to imagine the crowd readjusting from a reflective band like Live to Furtado's pop-folk if things had been reversed."

They also went on to say:
"Live did a great job of bringing the night home, fusing new tunes from their solid recent release Songs From Black Mountain with much-loved anthems from their most significant effort, 1994's Throwing Copper. Lead singer Ed Kowalczyk held the crowd while borrowing heavily from the new album, most notably the lyrical The River and show opener Mystery. He even threw in a version of Johnny Cash's Walk The Line. But it was Live's most plaintive older tunes, like the agonizing I Alone, the somber Lightning Crashes and revved-up All Over You that left the most impact in the end."
