Why did the US give their sport the name of a game that already existed from the early 1800's in England. Why not name it something else instead of switching names, calling their new game "football" while calling the old game "soccer" and confusing the world. FIFA which was founded in 1904 means ( in English ) International Federation of Football Association, not and damn soccer federation. Its funny how the US just calls it World Cup and not the full name Wold Cup Football. Haha

Oh, and don't get me started on that alleged "World Series"
When did America become the world. Surely that's an insult to the rest of the countries that exist in our universe. Haha

I know some people will be mad.....................Ah well

Actually its the FIFA World Cup.

Who gives a shit about a name of a sport. Most people know the difference.

I actually will watch the World Cup. I'm not a huge Soccer fan but understand the game and understand how big the World Cup is.

tell it all my patriotic brother! actually, i follow the world cup, also. my son played the game for a few years and i grew quite fond of it. soccer IMO may be the best youth sport.

i love MSL and FIFA !!!!!!!!!

I was able to see much of the World Cup in '94 when i was living in Santa Clara, CA. Brazil practiced as SCU where the SU~spousal unit~was in grad school so seeing them in practice was the shiznit too.

Grid Iron,pfft,what a joke. NRL,Union,pffft another joke.
Soccer,please!! How can that game be treated seriously when they go to the ground every 5 seconds holding there knee in agony when they weren't even touched,then 10 seconds later there up sprinting for the ball. It's a blight on the game. Apart from that it's snore time. No wonder they have so many riots,cos the game is so boring!!! The only good part is when a goal is kicked(if a goal is kicked) and the crowd go spastic. Apart from that its a snooze fest. The world game huh,it's a dumb world....

That's the argument of the few who don't like the game. Well, I myself can't stand to watch 2 mediocre teams play against each other.

But 2 good teams playing is another story. And for the millions who are thrilled by every move of the 14-22 players on the court, can't say they are wrong on this one. It's a good strategy game.
