Epic isn't so much concerned with the couple hundred rabid LIVE fans in the US that are following this closely enough to get upset when they push the release date back. So if you all download the album early, then that's a shame, but odds are, many of you will buy it anyways. Even so, these numbers pale in comparison to the thousands or tens of thousands of additional sales Epic is hoping for with a stronger promotional push.

Too bad for those of us who are paying attention, but really what's the big deal in the end? Yes, that was rhetorical. I'll still buy the album whenever it comes out and chances are you will, too. Knowing Live, it will more or less sound the same in May as it would have in April, or even last November for that matter. Exception is if they - wisely - decide to slap on the "guitars up" version of The River onto the disc. If they don't do that then they need their heads examined.

Though frustrating, because nobody likes change, the delay isn't too bad in the scheme of things. Tool, for example, is just getting around to releasing its DVD singles for Schism and Parabola a mere five years or so after the album hit the shelves. Those nuggets were rumored to have been out hundreds of times in the last few years. The faithful have waited and will buy.

Bottomline: I'd wait until THIS November for Black Mountain. It will come when it comes. Be patient...

I frankly don't care that much for their commercial success in the context of the album being leaked, because if the music's good people will buy it. If it sucks, people will not. Even if it sucks, some of us (me) will buy it anyway.

In fact, pre-emptive leakage would benefit overall commercial attention and ultimately boost revenues. Media protectionists who warn of the apocalypse when material is leaked are unable to understand that MORE access equates to democractized attention and thus better success. LESS access shuts out, turns people off, and hurts commercial harmony.

Lest you think I wholly endorse leaking the album, I don't. I personally wouldn't do it and wouldn't care to listen to a leaked copy if I could. But if you're really so concerned about selling X amount of records, paranoia over release date delays and leaked tracks isn't going to do a whole lot.

Well I think that those who post here are the only ones who are really waiting for the album to come out. Don't think that "normal" people give a damn about the release date being pushed back (if they even know it).
And when you are honest....you will all buy it anyway, won't you???
