Video about how setlists are compiled.

Spoiler: Zak handles it all

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVxxDD2cPfQ

Thanks for posting that. The end of the video is interesting, as Ed talks about what songs to put on the list, then says it would be overwhelming for "your favorite band" to play their latest record in full, like "whoa".

I would absolutely have loved if pre-2005 Live played their new record from front to back, then played hits from the other records, especially since some of my favorite Live songs aren't the ones that make the setlist. Give me a 50 minute set of the new record, a brief intermission, then 30-45 minutes of hits. Sold. Money well spent and everyone leaves happy.

Also, when The Gracious Few toured, they played all the songs from the record, plus a new song and a couple covers on some dates.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you probably didn't care much for Smashing Pumpkins either, right?

No, I actually like a lot of Smashing Pumpkins songs. I guess I should say up until Melon Collie.

The Our Lady Peace guy and his "WHYYY EEEE IIII EEE IIIII"s were too much.

I would not be happy.

I saw Iron Maiden do this back on the A Matter of Life and Death tour and hearing that whole album in its entirety was a complete chore and ruined the whole show for me. When they finally got to the hits all I could do was wonder why they wasted our time playing the new album from front to back.

That's one of their best albums, and you are privileged to have heard it played through.

Depends on the date. It's a co-headlining tour. If you contact the venue, then they will probably be able to let you know.

They swap. Whoever is listed first on a particular night, closes the show.

Then it sounds like Collective Soul are headlining tomorrow:

There is no benefit to hope for a Live headlining slot.

1. Live plays the exact same set regardless of whether they play last or second last
2. If Live plays last it means you have to watch Collective Soul
3. If Live plays second last, you can leave the show early and miss the traffic

I actually prefer when Live plays first, but in the Northeast, they usually close.

Hahaha!

I'll be sticking around for Collective Soul.

I'll always have a soft spot for them.
