Hi everyone,

I was browsing through everything on this website today for the first time in almost two years since I created my account and I realized that nobody has uploaded yet Public Affection's "Divided Mind, Divided Planet" (1990) EP tracks.

I was messing around on the internet one day in early December 2018 and saw that someone had uploaded the "Divided Mind, Divided Planet" EP to YouTube. So my first thought was "score!" So I managed to somehow rip the YouTube file and saved it to my computer which had initially saved as an MP4 file. After doing that, I then managed to separate the tracks into their own MP3 files upon opening up their file properties and adding the song & album details as they are noted on the album's Discogs website. I did second guess in finding it hard to believe that they could really be the actual tracks from the EP. But some of the songs themselves do have minor differences from how the band Live plays them on their "Mental Jewelry" album; and also, the time duration of the songs individually after I had separated the tracks almost match up with the track's time duration as they are listed on the album's Discogs website with the addition of one additional second at the end of each track. So it's just really up to anyone and individually to believe if whether or not if this is the real deal. I honestly don't know because it was an anonymous YouTube user who uploaded the file and not me.

I've already checked YouTube and the internet again today for the original upload of the file from the anonymous YouTube user, but the YouTube file has now been removed and also is no where on the internet.

Anyways, I am going to post a website link here that is for my MediaFire website account (User: Woodstock) that has the initial MP4 file of the "Divided Mind, Divided Planet" EP as it was ripped & saved to my computer directly from YouTube that plays the album all at once as it did on YouTube in addition to the downloads for each of the tracks individually.

Hello John. Thanks for posting.

Here is a thread about "Divided Mind, Divided Planet" that was started in 2010.
Link: Divided Mind, Divided Planet, Demo Tape

On July 31, 2010 NectarDan (former owner of this website) posted MP3 links to the tracks. This post can be found here. The original download link has now expired but I re-uploaded the same files in 2013. You can find my post here.

I assume these files were combined into a single track and were used in the YouTube video. I haven't compared NectarDan's with yours though.

I will also add that the DMDP versions of the tracks are superior to what appeared on Mental Jewelry. Maybe it's just because they're different to what I had been listening for such a long time but I don't think so. These tracks would have been a great accompaniment to the 25th anniversary of Mental Jewelry.

Hi Dangum!

Yes, the DMDP tracks were uploaded to YouTube from the anonymous person as a single track that which my initial MP4 download link that is posted in my MediaFire account is a ripped & downloaded copy/duplicate file of how the EP was also uploaded and played on YouTube with the exception of the album cover artwork viewed in my MP4 download file and the five MP3 download files of each track. The album cover artwork that was shown on YouTube during the entire duration the album was played was in fact the same album cover artwork image that is shown in the album's Discogs profile page that I shared a link to in my previous & initial comment. I know that the album cover artwork is different in the MP3 files apart from the original DMDP YouTube website because after I had separated the songs into their own individual tracks and MP3 files, I then had to add and type in the song & album information for each track individually as well as adding the different album artwork that I found on the internet. What is unknown to me though is why the album artwork in the MP4 file that I have also posted in my MediaFire account was changed too when I had only worked with the MP3 files once I had them and never the MP4 file again after that point. So I don't understand why there was a ripple effect in the change of the album cover artwork from the MP3 files to the MP4 file.

Also, I actually did come across the thread "Divided Mind, Divided Planet, Demo Tape" in my browsing yesterday and had read for what I thought was the entire thread so that I could learn some new information about the EP. But after everything that I read, I never saw anybody comment in posting a link to a page where others can download the DMDP tracks. So I made the decision to create a new comment & thread and provide a link for others where they can download the files of the DMDP tracks from what I have uploaded now in my MediaFire account. In your comment & reply above though, Dangum, where you provided the three links and particularly the two that are each labeled as "Here," they both directed me to a section of the thread that I did not read yesterday and that apparently which I only have access to view ONLY through your provided "Here" links.

Thank you very much, Dangum, for providing the information and sharing the links!
