During the first leg of the Live / Bush #Alti-mate tour where Live was playing the same 14 track setlist night after night, a fan asked Chad Gracey on his Instagram page how many songs Live would be playing on their European tour.

Chad replied with "a lot"

Now, that the European tour is over we finally know what 'a lot' means to Chad.

'A lot' is 17 songs. That was the greatest number of tracks performed on their 8 show tour.

Live played as few as 14 songs on the Euro tour (same as their co-headlining US tour), while the average for their solo shows was 16.

Do you think a headlining act touring a country where the biggest fans exist should play such a limited number of songs?

Is 95 minutes enough?

In my opinion the answer is a resounding "No" for both.

Live did try to mix things up a little - for example Overcome (full band and Ed solo), They Stood Up for Love were added. Shit Towne got an extended guitar solo from Chad Taylor. Ed venturing out into the crowd was cool... but Live needs to do more.

Yeah, you’re right, they could do a lot more as they weren’t limited in time at some shows in Europe.
27 in stead of 17, anyone? https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/live/2006/ah...s-73d63a2d.html
Like, the setlist they did this tour + TC from start to finish.
Maybe we ask for too much, I liked the little things they mixed up, but it could be much more. In the end it’s up to them though.

Agree...they should play at least 20. It's not like it wasn't expected though.

It's really sad. Tomorrow they play 1h15 from my home. And I'll let my girlfriend go alone with her cousin. Though I like to hear TDAOC live and WD, I am done with these predictable setlist. They made their choice. Casual instead of diehard fans. I know that for the money they probably do the right choice, but I can't help to ask why this band has become so lazy?

No, we don’t.

This band is jaded. And Chad G. is getting on my nerves.

If he gets tired he can just take a break. They do have two drummers now.

Yes, 95 minutes is enough.

However, I am in no position to tell any music act what songs to perform or how long of a concert to perform. I do not know their limitations, health, or stamina.

With the current model of touring, the first show of a tour is a good gauge as to how long the concert will be and roughly the amount of songs performed. We, as fans, can make a valued judgment on if we choose to attend or not.

I would say it just enough. Any shorter and it will be a festival type of show. I'd prefer a 20 song show, close to hours. On the other hand I rather have quality over quantity.

They will probably never get close to the 30 song, three hour set from back in the day. But honestly, I could barely keep myself standing after that one. lol.gif

I'm happy with a 90 minute set. 70-90 minutes is what I like for shows. Keeps the momentum.

I remember when Live was playing 2 hour plus shows during SFBM tour, and some people would leave during the second encore. 90 minutes is perfect.

Two hours would be just fine with me. Even at two hours that's less than the run time of most movies today.

2hrs > 90mins imo.

Saying that, they're gearing everything towards the casual fan and in that respect they may as well just continue to bang out the heritage act over 90 minutes.

For reference, Paul McCartney at age 77 played 38 songs at his Dodger Stadium concert on Saturday.

To play devil's advocate: When I saw them in Berlin two weeks ago, I didn't think that the concert was too short.
For all of LIVE's faults, it was a very enjoyable show.

Live should be playing a longer set list and mix up the songs. There is no way you can rationally argue that. Susquehanna and Hold me up and incredible songs that just got released and they aren’t playing them? Makes no sense!!
