Lack of website updates makes me think that Chad T. is in charge of everything.

if you put freaks4live.com in google search it says it's the official site of Sandy Patty. I think it used to say someone else's name recently too.

I keep reading that they have a second drummer on this tour.

Does anybody know exactly why? Who's decision it is, and to what end?

Robin joined Live when CG hurt his arm and couldn't play several shows last year, so they got him to play those dates until CG rehabbed. After those shows were over and Live went into the studio to record, Robin apparently contributed a fair amount of creativity to Love Lounge, so Robin is back on this tour as a backup-but-not-really drummer.

I'd be fine with Robin if he was more of a percussionist, but since he's playing a full kit alongside CG, it muddies the sound and loses dynamics in certain parts of songs. There are plenty of videos of this current tour in the tour thread. Check them out and see for yourself if you're curious.

Looks like it's hosted through GoDaddy, and the registration expires at the end of this month. I hope someone updates it soon!

Still - you have a new single and not even a mention on the site?

Oh, I very much get what you’re saying. It just doesn’t surprise me that their website & store hasn’t been updated in the slightest.

OK I have checked a few out and am left still scratching my head. There's no scenario where it requires two drummers to pull off any of Live's material on the stage.

So the guy is good in the studio, so what, why does that mean they plonk him up on stage next to CG? Really hard to imagine that CG is on board with that. I mean, why would he need a helping hand? He's not a pensioner, yet. Queen take out a second drummer now, but that's because Roger Taylor is old and can't play with the intensity he used to. CG is a relatively young guy. Unless maybe his arm did not fully recover and it is impairing his playing, but it doesn't seem that way.

It's just... bizarre.

I'd imagine if he wasn't on board with it, Robin wouldn't be there. Without knowing anything about who's making decisions these days, they haven't been back together that long - why would Ed or Taylor rock the boat over this?

I think the dollar symbol is making the decisions at this point. Funds had to be getting dry and now they will just do whatever it takes to survive.

I am not going to assume each band members financial status, but obviously if they hated each other this much and somehow reunited and put differences aside, chances are its for one thing...

This is turning into a circus event.

I am going to see them next month at Jones Beach and I remember seeing them there in 1997, and it was in my top 3 concerts of all time. Now 21 years later... its probably going to be in the bottom 3.

Saw Ed solo in Fairfield in Jan 2013, small club, really intimate, amazing show.

I would rather Live play in small venues just by themselves instead of going on tour with the counting crows. I have seen Ed play to an almost empty parking lot in City Winery on a 106 degree day in Manhattan.

They need to stop associating with bands that time forgot like Counting Crows and Collective Soul.

Are the amphitheaters for this tour with Counting Crows really near empty? I go Saturday to the Austin show. That amphitheater has 6,700 seats, but with the lawn it has capacity for 14,000. Will be interesting to see how full it gets.

Although it would be ideal to see Live by themselves in a small venue, I don’t think they are to that point. I do 100% think they should have headlined this summer and in picking the right artist to open (Alanis Morrisette!! yay.gif ) they could fill some pretty good sized venues. Like it or not, 90’s musicians are nostalgia acts and it’s what people in their late 30’s and into their 40’s crave to see. Nothing wrong with that, Live doesn’t need to stop associating with bands of their era. Time hasn’t forgotten. But Live should have headlined. Period.

I don't think you can even judge attendance now, since they were giving tickets away 2 for 1. But honestly, I know the venues they are playing around here, and Live wouldn't fill those venues on their own, not even close.

I think they probably could be playing to 5,000 seats, even that probably wouldn't be full. But it would be a hell of a show for those of us who would have.

I was at the Starland Ballroom show when he came around, and it seemed like possibly 200-300 people there, and they sold tickets to that show for $5.

But I enjoyed it.

At many of the previous shows, they have actually cancelled the grass and gave free upgrades to people who had tickets out there. And only $10 upgrades to be down in the 100 sections!

And I actually have to disagree with you on Alanis opening for Live. I think she is the bigger act. I'm a big Alanis fan, but I've always been a bigger fan of +Live+, but if they actually toured together, I would totally expect Live to open for her. Record sales and streaming stats dont lie. She is also AMAZING live. She still has an amazing voice and sounds just like her albums when she performs. I'd say even better!

This whole thing with the counting crows was such a stupid idea for all who were involved. I mean, it seems that there aren't many counting crows fans left anyway based on the attendance at the shows so far. So +Live+ opening for them "should" be more of a draw for the average CC fan, but this doesnt seem to be the case since attendance is so low.

You’ve probably got me on comparing their stats. And I bet she’s on top of things...like her website is updated (unlike Live’s which we were talking about yesterday). I’m not a huge fan of hers, but have always thought she was so friggin’ cool (and beautiful) and would love to see her. Last I looked, she was headlining shows overseas this summer. What size of venue does she play in the states?

I'm seeing the show in Hershey. I was just there Saturday seeing Maroon 5, who sucked by the way, and there were 23,000 people in that stadium. If this tour can't fill an ampitheater with lawn seats what the hell are they doing playing Hershey Stadium? I am so confused.

I’ll never forget, years back when I was looking to replace stolen Live CD’s, the dude working in the music store said, “Live?! Aren’t they some east coast shit?”—I would assume they’re going to draw more of a crowd at home of course, but 23,000?! There’s no way. Not with CC. You’re right, this tour is so confusing.
