The door swings both ways on your second comment. Either way, I feel it is a very underwhelming lead single for a once popular band trying to make a comeback with a new singer.

Ed's latest album was better than his first. I said there is a couple of good tracks on it. Said he did perform some of his TC songs well this year ( surprised by Stage). I gave him credit for touring alot.

I just don't know how "Seven" would be a so overwhelming single and TWAiT a underwhelming one.

I honestly think Seven is a very good song, but not necessarily a great single. I actually prefer Grace and I'm The Proof for Ed when it comes to singles.

That said, when you resurrect the name Live, you are automatically going to be compared to Throwing Copper and Live of the 90's. Chad Taylor himself called this single the best Live song ever a few months back in his blog. I just don't think it is a memorable song, and I find it to be a poor first single.

I feel it's a very underwhelming single as well.

The intro sounded promising.. at first.. and then at 0:55 went into this horrible cheesy chord progression. Not a big fan of that.

I have to say I'm impressed by Shinn's vocals. I was a fan of Unified Theory back in the day, and I think he sounds better than ever on this track. He nailed it on this one. In my opinion, he saves this song from being a total disaster.

If I didn't know who the members were in this band and just happened to hear this song on YouTube, I'd think to myself why is this guy in this terrible sounding garage band. He could do so much better.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the other tracks are better. A mix between annoying and forgettable. Definitely a skip track when I download this album.

I remember listening to SS all the way through for the very first time and feeling very flat at the end of it. It was by about the fifth or sixth replay that the melodies and vibe of that sound began to connect with me and become as entrenched as they are today. I'm like this with most things that I eventually come to deeply admire. I sense much greatness in this sound. As summer approaches down here I remember the beach, the friends, the long drives along the coastline, the good times of days gone by and accompanying soundtracks of the past that went with them. This will be the soundtrack for a brand new summer and a brand new era. Connect with me baby, I can feel it!

You can say a lot of things about that song...

A bit generic? Ok, possible
Chorusk happens too often...ok, possible.
Solo a bit too predictable? Ok, possible

But why the fu... can someone pretend that Shinn's voice sounds like Ed's voice? I just can't understand that. Shinn puts his heart on his sleeve for this one. No comparison there between the 2 singers. Ed could NEVER perform that raw voice, even in the studio. Ed is still a good singer of course, but not this way.

I hear ya, I'm slow to warm up to most new music. The fact that I felt neutral about it to start is actually a good sign. In fact, it's been stuck in my head today.

1) it still doesn't sound like "Classic Live", even though I'm trying to picture Ed singing the new songs and it feels like it could have worked. So maybe it could sound like Live if Ed were singing it, but what wouldn't?

2) I REALLY like it, in a world where you just don't get good rock music anymore, I'm really looking forward to this album.

Yeah guys! I was really hopeful and I'm trying to hang in there! Honestly! I have nothing against Shinn, and I'm no longer an Ed fan, but I think the choice in the single (the chance to reintroduce +Live+) was a poor choice. But more so, unfortunately, I'm very disappointed. The song is kinda boring to me! Even the other songs that have been floating around on youtube...ehh. Siren's Call, a little better, but it just falls flat for me at least. I feel bad in stating this, but sorry guys...and sorry CCCP!

For the sake of argument: Can you give a constructive reply and for once prove you actually read the post and took 1 minute to process it and think it through. This is the equivalent of putting fingers in your ears and screaming "lalaalala".

People make good points in why they don't like the new Live and you're just being a big baby about it. Maybe deep down inside you are actually really disappointed and you know the critics are right to some degree, but you just want to believe it's all great, 'cuz it's all you have at the moment.
