hey pheez~chatted with my law prof who handled housing litigation and spent time in litigation for years with HUD. He had some ideas for you and your situation. Get a hold of me if you want to hear what he had to say. His biggest piece of advice was to contact counsel in your area first and foremost to research your rights in term of the lease A. signed.

Also check out your rights as tenants. It takes a LOT for a landlord to throw you out. And it takes a LOOOONG time. L knows a lot about this too - working in law & all that good stuff. Send her a pm.

That's correct. You'd most probably get past the extra 30 days just by simply contesting their order to leave the place.

Ok, so we're still here, and we still have the iguana. My girl called the local sheriff or some shit, and they said that they can't evict us without going through the court, which would take a longass time, so we're just staying here for the 30 days and then moving out. Fuck them. We're not getting rid of our iguana. So yeah...we're here because we have to pay rent for these last 30 days. We're trying to sell our couch and tv and tables and stuff when we move out, so that we can have more money to put toward our upcoming cross country trip. So we're gonna be here for a month, then with her mom for a month, then we're heading out to cali. Doesn't look like I should need to file any charges or anything, thank god. We're just staying here for the next thirty days, and they can't do anything to us.

Heh. I won't be online at all for about a week, and I won't have time to post here much for probably at least a week after that.
