If I remember correctly, I think the story goes that the creator of this compilation (mvdb of mvdblive.com) handed a copy of it to the band back in 2001 to show them what the fan community had in terms of rarities in the hope they'd consider releasing more/better quality versions - does anyone remember this? Dan? Bueller?

I recall something like that occuring. If you want to find out exactly what happened it might be worth having a dig through the illout.com forum as it was probably discussed there.
