QUOTE
First things first. No picking on people for defending the heritage and legacy of the band. The bond between all members of this band has been a huge part of people's lives for nearly thirty years. We have to understand that losing a member has caused pain, intentional or not. Sorrow, resentment and even anger are all known steps to healing. We've got to let it happen.

The lead singer bonus comment was not intended as a jab but I can see where it might set off sparks. In this case it was specifically intended to highlight a generous token of gratitude verses a rather notorious negotiation tactic. It is a very real situation that I did experience. Sharing my experience is the point of a social media page. I can't be expected to alter or change my experience in order to appease each and every one of you? If I did, this is where I would lose my credibility with you.

My relationship with our former singer is a total disappointment. I felt betrayed and left down. I felt that he betrayed my friends. I also felt that he betrayed the music and therefor the fans. Like I'm telling you, I told him too. Although most likely too late.

Despite public perception, behind closed doors, we tried to connect and work things out without bringing music or career objectives into the fold. No matter how we connected, one message rang true; there will never be a reason to connect with someone who doesn't value or respect our collective contribution. Some of this is simply none of your business because it's deeply personal but because the results have LIVE with a new vocalist; and even the smallest comment can spark controversy, I'm forced to open up a bit more than I'd like. That is if I intend to earn or retain your respect.

So moving forward, I'd like you to respect my experience (the good and the bad) but I will also try to refrain from remarks that might offend those who cherish the early days of the band.

I'm sorry for any contribution I've made to your pain and hope that in time you'll forgive and enjoy the new.

I'm truly inspired by the depth of character and sincere appreciation for LIVE that Chris Shinn has brought to the table. Maybe in time, you'll see like I have, that Shinn's spirit is the very ingredient we needed to fuel ourselves through the trauma of the last few years.

We can't go back, therefor the only real choice is to move ahead.

Thanks for your support.
