So let me start by saying banana.gif

and I'm sorry it had taken me so long for a review - I've been on vacation (don't feel too badly for me). I went to the show with my best friend from.college and we've been to some 20 shows together, so the fact that we got to go to a meet and greet after... but let me start at the beginning.

Sponge was awesome. So much energy and fun. Really did very well considering at their opening the venue (4000 capacity) had sold about 600 tickets and a staff told me another almost 1000 had been given away by radio stations (I can only assume this is true but cannot verify). I was truly surprised so few people were there when Sponge opened. As they played people poured in and just kept coming.

Filter continued with amazing energy. I have never seen Filter before. I really enjoyed it. Filter absolutely had a fanbase there and many more people had shown up.

Before Live taking the stage even more people had arrived. I saw a fee LIVE t shirts. I talked to a few people who were there just to see them like I was. By the way, I was on the railing. Of course.

And if you followed me on Twitter (it's ok if you didn't) I took a few pictures before my phone died. All I can say about LIVE is what everyone else has already said and you will understand when you see them perform. They have an energy I haven't seen in years. I tried to take notes on my phone for a review. During several songs, especially WD, I just kept writing "Chad T going apeshit, awesome solo" "Pat killing it" "Chad G going APESHIT" "Chris killing it"

They smiled. They really obviously loved it. And they sounded AMAZING!!
So while I still had a phone that worked I retweeted an invite to a meet and greet and got my friend and I on the list. After Live's set we were given a backstage sticker and a flat to get signed. We got to talk to the guys and get signatures and take pictures. I had gotten to also talk to the great Jimmy Lang (who always confuses me for someone else) and Bill Hynes (who thought he knew me from SXSW) and Bill let Gracey know I had been at the Strand Capital in March. I don't know who smiled more at this - me or Chad. I thanked all of the guys for an amazing time. I reminded Chris that the last time I saw him he spilled his drink everywhere - he laughed and said he was happy to be dry. We were backstage for quite a while. The guys were super gracious. Super friendly. Very talkative and appreciative. Chad T had to run out and introduce Everclear. Pat hammed it up for pictures in the meantime. I got some great pictures. Had an amazing time. Ready for LIVE to come by my way again!!

Everclear was also awesome.
And at the end of their show pretty much everyone came onstage and sang and it looked like so much damn fun.

so all I can say is yay.gif
