Holy shit is this album awesome. This is the last Genesis album Peter Gabriel was a part of, and it's pretty fucking cool. I just got it recently, and have only listened to it a few times, but so far my favorite tracks are "in the cage", "back in nyc", and "the lamb lies down/the light dies down on broadway". The thing that's caught my attention the most about this album is the synth work. There's some amazing stuff. The drumming and guitar/bass work can be kinda boring at times, but the synth player is awesome, and peter gabriel obviously is as well.

Anyone else heard it?

I'm mostly a fan of gabriel's work. I really like this album, though, and I do plan on picking up more of genesis' early work when I can.

I've not listened to that album in about 20 years - I used to love it. Never liked Genesis with Phil Collins singing, the annoying little cockney pleb.

Jeff Buckley did a fucking great version of Back In NYC.

Yeah, fuck phil collins.

I'm listening to this album right now, and goddamn am I blown away by a lot of synth stuff in it. I can't believe how predominant it is, and how pimp some of the parts are.

I wonder if Janice has ever heard this album.

Have you got Selling England by the Pound, or Foxtrot? Those and Lamb are my three favourites... Nursery Crime's very good as well.

Cause I'm an old lady in a rocking chair - as I read somewhere else - I know the music you are talking about quite well, have them all: Selling England By The Pound, Nursery Crime, Foxtrot, Genesis Live (1974), The Lamb Lies Down... and my fav. of the old Genesis albums, first album with the new singer Phil Collins: A Trick Of The Tail.

A Genesis show was the first real rock show I'd been to back in 1973 when I was 15.
They were amazing, including Phil C. on drums!
