Don't know how many of you remember this band from the last 90's. They disbanded back in 2001 or 2002. I liked them a lot back then but they only released two albums. The singer's voice is very similar to Chris Cornell.

Well, they got back together recently and just put out a pretty rockin' new album called "Albatross".

lol It's the odd time signatures. He loves switching back and forth between different tempos in a song. I guess it's a staple in his writing style. I think that's what you're talking about anyway. He kinda got away from that when he was touring under the name Thornley.
