And yep, holding on to his LIVE roots, with his "I Alone" tour.

Guess I will have to wait for the "Eat Your Love" tour.

Ha - Nick posted that he can't wait for the tour and then "liked" his own post! What a tool!

Now only if he can play some hidden gems like Supernatural, maybe he'll get some of my respect back.

If he really has to keep touring with the same tired old stuff then this solo acoustic thing is the way to go. He sounds best there when you take his band away, less chances of ruining classic songs. What a surprise at the tour name though, good to see he's moved on smile.gif

Seriously though, this is a better step for him, it'd be kinda cool if his next album was an acoustic one.

Open Wings Broken Strings solo performance was great. I welcome another similar show.

An acoustic album would be a nice additon too. Bring it!

i saw ed acoustic when he came to my town and totally loved it. Didnt even bother to see him on the Alive tour, something about it just seemed cheap and nasty and im not even a hater here, couldnt care less if he stabbed his friends in the back. So this would be something I would look forward to. just seems more real somehow.

Can only echo what's already been said really. A better direction for him but, still, clinging onto the hits.

Yeah I saw Ed acoustic in Melbourne in 09 but didn't bother seeing his full band show. If he tours solo acoustic again I won't go see him out of A). Principle B). It'll just end up being exactly the same as the 09 show with some of the "rarer" Live songs replaced by Alive songs. His acoustic show is just the lesser of 2 evils, but, it's at least something mildly positive!

i gotta say its strange living here in perth which is so far removed from everywhere and where nobody comes that it would be stupid NOT going to see Ed when he does come here considering how much time i spend on these forums. I remember the 3 times i saw Live here were such a huge event for me, i mean thinking about it and anticipating it for months i was younger and stupider then too though. But I did tend to lose myself in the moment when I saw Ed here a few years ago for the solo performance, it was quite magical. I think i can get that excited again about it, its just with the fake band it seems so artificial for whatever reason.
