I don't think Ed would ever consider that a wise move, especially considering the circumstances and past history. I would think Ed would communicate on his own.

One would think that CC&P would communicate on their own too. And dont give us that line about Ed not responding to them. We already know thats the case, per Chad's public posts on the subject. Dont send a messenger please, its not going to change things.

They did? I never saw the words stated come back. But matters about the band needed to be discussed. He rebuked them then, then we hear Ed say he'd keep avenues open after saying "I don't intend to work with those individuals again'. He still never calls them by name today in his interviews. Next spin brigarbage?

Thank goodness we dont have to see the public side of everyone's bitter divorces. Matters of the band may have been needed to be discussed, but I have to agree with another poster on here who has pointed out that one of them being publically thrown under the bus probably didnt help matters.

Like they're clamoring for Ed to come back. Please. Ed will never be welcome back in that band unless there is some serious cleansing and he shed all of his ego based stipulations for associating with him. They will never put themselves in the same situation they were with him for the past 10 years. Never happening.

Its quite clear that Ed wouldnt want to put himself in that situation either. Friends split up, it happens. It sure doesnt mean that Ed will suffer for it. Suffer from what? Our expectations about what should have been, what could have been? Well, it isnt, and we have what we see here.

Funny how basically everyone who has a real problem with that is 100% behind Ed. I still think that if you act like an ass you don't deserve to get away with it scott free like some people think Ed should. I don't see why a bit of public tarnishing is frowned upon someone who does and did the things he did. And no replys of "you don't know he did those things!!", yeah we do, it's just... Obvious. Not only that but his total lack of respect to people's intelligence "lol come buy my stick figure for $8000!!". Throw him under the bus for a bit.

I think the reason you see that side being more behind Ed is that Ed didnt bring the problems out into the general public. His friends ripped him and broadcast it to the world. To me, they acted like the bitter ex wife who just has to let the world know what she's been through. Cry me a river!

Dont go all judgemental on me for that either. I'm friends with plenty of bitter ex wives! i.e. just becuse I see CC&P that way doesnt mean that I dont like their music. I just dont want to hear that much about their personal trials.

And who are we to judge whether or not Ed gets away with things 'scott free' as you say? Does a public lashing equate to some sort of justice for whatever it is that you feel he did wrong?

To me at least, those public 'tarnishings' only tarnish the tarnisher (is that even a word?!).

If nothing was said or brought to light then to me that is Ed getting off way too lightly for all the shit he's pulled. Nah you don't get to do all that and get away with it and not have it brought to light. Who are to judge? Who is anyone to judge, that's such a stupid saying because if you think we shouldn't judge Ed's punishment then how far do you extend that logic, you shouldn't judge CT's actions the way you are, who the hell are you to judge him?!?! In the end if you're in the public eye you're gonna be judged. That's something we all gotta accept my judgement will be different to the next person's. To me this is what I believe, that dragging him through the mud is what he deserves. You obviously feel differently.

I can't even believe that there are 13 pages of debate about this subject.

CCP are authentic artists who have continued cleaving to their roots: musically, geographically, economically, artistically, spiritually, and familially.

Ed is an artistically-empty, sell-out who has pivotted away from everything he once stood for: artistically, spiritually, economically and geographically.

Those facts are clear and undisputed on the record. Ed ran out of artistic gas, took over the band and drove it into the ground. Then he made some questionable business moves, and Live became both artistically and financially empty for everyone but Ed and there was no alternative but to disband. You would have to be blind and deaf not to see all of the writing on the wall from V to BoP to SFBM, to Alive, Ed's online store with coffee and stick figures and paid phone conversations, the oddessy of the song Believe which turned into Honest Man, the quality of TGF and the earnest, workman-like effort and integrity that CCP put into the legacy of Live, TGF, rehearsals and everything else that they do. I've got two TGF T-shirts that I wear at least once a week because when they dropped the price of their tickets they gave free T-shirts to people who pre-ordered at a higher price. How's that for integrity?!?! Combineall of that with the numerous personal accounts of interactions with these 4 individuals and it is all very obvious. The debate is over. I don't need to compare Alive 2.0 with Live 2.0 to make my conclusion.

thats it totally. if ed just left i dont think i would feel the way i do. the fact that it was aired out in public gave me a bad taste. i did not like v,bop, sfbm near as much as the first four albums. i think they were better when it was a cohesive unit. i dont dispute that. the post break up makes me sick and it has turned into me feeling like ed's nonsense whatever it is (ls bonus, coffee, whatever) does not compare to airing it in public. like if a husband bangs hookers and the wife tells the kids, she is more crazy for her actions. that may sound silly but that is how i see it and why i come to eds defense. i am not 100 percent behind his music and anti ccp i just dont like how this played out. its hard for me to get over like its hard for everyone to get over the ed stuff.
