Score one for Nick on that one.

It's more like, he gets to see his favorite washed up musician incessantly tour his nostalgia act with second rate musicians because that's all he can do at this point. While his former friends and business associates continue to move forward in their lives with their business and music ventures. Hey Nick, enjoy the EK show while you can. He'll only be able to attract fans to that tired act for so long. Unless he's got something grand up his sleeve, he's going to be sorry he severed his ties with CCP.

He's been going pretty strong for two years. There is no reason he can't continue touring in some form for as long as he wants to. The tour plans I've heard for later this year sound pretty cool actually.

Sure. There's plenty of subway stations and street corners out there.

Tgf album was weak so stop with the nostalgia act nonsense. Ccp are not exactly burning up the airwaves. You guys spin it worse than anyone. Tired of what will happen. Hope live puts up a monster but hasn't happened yet so if Ed is washed up what does that make Ccp.

Here we go again. What does EK's stale act have to do with TGF? That's all you EK lovers have. In case you don't know, CCP have more going than just TGF. Remember Live, the band that Ed left to (supposedly) pursue a solo career? He'll eventually wish he never discarded CCP not just for Live but as friends and business associates. Let's see how long his house of cards stands up. If he doesn't do something spectacular with album 2 he'll be done. He can only draw people to his nostalgia act for so long.

What the fuck is tgf drawing. Tgf is the only example I can give because live only tells me something is on the way and doesn't deliver. Here is what you guys sound like "Ed sucks but live is going to be new and fantastic and Chris shin is the tits". If live puts out a monster great but they have done dick diddle so far. Would be done vs just plain done

I get to see my favorite artist on tour, while you get to read articles of your guys buying real estate.

I gotta admit, that's funny laugh.gif

I for one would like to see TGF on tour and especially LIVE. But I understand they are taking longer to do their stuff. It's easier to take one person on tour and 3 or so paid employees than a band that are all equal.

Here's what you sound like, I can't say anything positive about EK so I'll just rip CCP. Ed is touring on the strength of his recognition in Live and drawing a few hundred people to his shows. He's playing watered down versions of Live songs, and a few of his songs off Alive. How many times does someone want to see that? Once, out of curiosity maybe. Unless you're Nick of course. Time will tell. I'd bet my left nut that unless EK pulls a rabbit out of his hat with album 2 he'll be relegated to solo acoustic shows then who knows what. He's definitely going to have to be creative to try to keep that train rolling. Now, as far as CCP, since I know you are going to go there. We'll just have to wait and see. We know what EK has to offer but we really don't know what Live or TGF has to offer. TGF was doing pretty well when they went on hiatus. The rest is purely speculation with them. If they don't do anything else then you can say all you want about them not doing more than EK. The reality is they did about the same when they were active, without riding the Live gravy train. But they aren't done. We know Live isn't done but we'll have to wait and see on that too. Again, we know what EK is all about. He's been doing the same thing for the past two years. Nothing to get excited about there. The possibility exists that CCP might just blow our minds with new Live. Even if you don't like KM, you have got to admit CCP brought it with TGF. That should at least get Live fans excited, more so than Alive 2 and another round of touring as EK and the Live wannabes.

Holy crap, Nick has a disciple. Ladies and gents, nice knowing ya, but that's clearly The Seventh Sign. Prepare for the apocalypse. You did forget to throw some sales figures out there. Guess your Jedi training isn't complete! smile.gif I'm just being sarcastic, not bashing ya if it comes off that way. I'm just a sarcastic dude.

As far as TGF being weak, I totally dig it 110%, but I will never argue taste. Individuality makes the world go round. I'm fine w/the split, didn't care for the direction he took them after 99. I don't care for Ed's material, but if that's what makes him happy, than that 's great. Everyone deserves to be happy in life. People change as they get older, but Ed did have changes for the worse as it has been well documented. I'm not saying CC&P are angels, and we'll never know so many things about the downfall. Ed did some underhanded stuff, and therefore he will always be the recipient of venom from many. I'm not going to bash him, as much as I easily could...but I certainly see why there is so much disdain for him on the boards. The passion of this band is what got many of us into them, so we're all passionate people that all can get a bit over-passionate in discussions at times. I'm certainly guilty.

He gets to see Ed from his point of view. Good for him. I enjoy Ed shows as well.

Ed is moving forward doing what he wants to do. CC&P are moving forward doing what they want to do. They all seem to accept that fact now. I dont understand why the majority of this board cant just move on and enjoy it as well.

Actually I'm 100% fine with it and happy for him. I don't have an issue with him at all. Some fans however can't seem to accept that he's just not the same guy anymore and have to rip CCP as some sort of equality measure. First off, not sure why belittling them makes any point about Ed at all. Secondly, they have proven that they still bring it at a level on par with what they did in their heyday. They haven't shown one sign of being any different than they have always been. So what about sales figures or other bs. They still bring it as they always did, period. Ed does not. Admit it and let's move on. Then we can all appreciate EK in his new incarnation.

Another point on the nostalgia-act knock on Ed... What have we heard from Live 2.0? Old stuff. Im sure new stuff is coming, and I hope its good, but Live 2.0 will undoubtedly contain old stuff. Nostalgia. I dont care what your opinion is on what era it came from, who contributed to writing it, etc., its still just as nostalgia based as Ed performing his take on the old stuff with whatever musicians he chooses to surround himself with.

Their heyday? You're comparing men now with men of 10-20+ years ago. Its just simply OK that people can, do, and will change. I am certainly not the same man that I was 20 years ago. And thank goodness for that. The ripping of anyone on here is simply uncalled for.
