I've met Ed 3 times but I've been to 4 meet-n-greets.

The most enthused Ed I saw was on the one occasion I didn't technically meet him. It was in Chicago, 2008 I think. There had definitely been some issues between Ed and CT on stage or at the very least CT was having technical issues. After the show at the meet-n-greet CT, CG and PD came out. No Ed. Thought it was kind of weird.

When leaving the venue my wife and I were walking to our car and Ed was in the tour van (white unmarked van) in the front passenger seat. We were the only people around. He rolled down the window and said "have a great night" or something to that effect and was waving at us with a big smile on his face. I don't know if he just didn't want to meet fans that night and that's why he didn't come to the meet-n-greet or if he wanted to avoid his bandmates.

The other 3 occasions where I technically met Ed, took pictures, signed stuff, shook hands and the like, he wasn't as genuine as the one occasion where I didn't technically meet him. Disinterested seems like an accurate word. He's never been rude or anything, just never had the friendliness that Chad, Chad, Patrick and Adam K displayed. Of course there's also the conspicuous eagerness for him to talk to a hot woman. Can't completely blame him, I too would rather be in the company of some of the knockouts (who oddly don't ever seem to be big fans of the band but yet somehow get meet-n-greet access) than some dude too.

He is always nice to me and i'm no miss america. He even remembers my name when he sees me and last time i saw him [last july] he actually GAVE me one of the necklaces and he even put it on me. [i have it on video] I said i got the necklace for cheap because i didn't want people getting all shitty towards me if i really said he actually just gave it to me and i didn't pay so i don't think the money is really an issue with him any more. The guy has always been great to me and never snubbed me once. I respect him for that. While i do realize that a lot of people hate on him now and frankly , i do not like things that went on either but i just can't hate on the man. Some have had bad experiences while others have not but that is just what happens i guess. The first time i met him was really weird....i actually felt a vibe coming from him...that may sound corny as hell but it's true.

Live has already changed lead singers once when that Ed look alike took over after 1999, so I don't see what the big deal is.

This is a typical response. Just like "all rap music sounds the same" and "all speed metal sounds the same".

If you don't like their music, fine. But any Everclear fan will tell you that their songs are unique from one another.

My point was to illustrate that Everclear without Art Alexakis would be a shadow of its former self. Just like LIVE without Ed Kowalczyk. Art wrote all of their stuff (just like Ed) and he was the driving force of his band (just like Ed).

Same thing with every band I mentioned: the lead singers were the creative forces behind their bands. This isn't Lennon-McCartney we're talking about. It's not like Chad Taylor had 50% of the creative input or something. Ed was the driving force behind LIVE. Are you gonna argue that?

That's why LIVE should just move on and release some new shit - not some unknown singer copying the old Ed.

Ed wrote Live's last four albums and the writing was so fucking bad that people were disgusted by the MILLIONS. If you think Ed's continued writing would not be detrimental to this bands future, you're about as fucking dumb as they come. Scott Weiland passed out on a heroin binge could write better songs in a stoned out fucking stupor than Ed could continue to do.

It's funny how this argument about whether Ed disrespected CCP has turned into some legal argument that is subject to rules of evidence. How about first hand eye witness testimony? Does that suffice as evidence? I was an eye witness to disrespect.

I had a rare opportunity on several occasions to observe the band and their tour manager and their families back stage and in their dressing room before and after shoows. CCP and their families and the tour manager and the road crew were all very close like a family. They travelled between shows together and arrived at the venue early and spent time together. Ed was never there. Ed travelled in a seperate SUV. He arrived just before the show. He didn't mingle with the band or the families. He didn't join them in the dressing room. I personally saw him get out of his SUV at a show with a pair of rock star shades on his face and walk to the back stage area with a rock star swagger and attitude and he completely blow off and ignore friends who said hello to him as he arrived. I personally watched him blow offf his band mates and fans at after parties. I personally experienced him disrespect me. This was years before the hiatus. That's eye witness testimony of disrespect. I know that is not how the 4 band members started out. It it was clearly disrespectful to CCP and the band Live and the fans. And all you have to do is line up Chad Taylor's "testimony" and the document record in the publishing contracts regarding who wrote the songs after V, and compare the first 4 Live albums with the last few albums side by side to quickly establish that Ed destroyed Live's creative legacy by taking over creative control and putting out such crap under live's name. Addtionally, another Exhibit in this "case" could be the fact that the tour manager and Jerry Harrison and the road crew were all loyal to CCP and all joined TGF, and the TGF album sounds musically like a powder keg of talent and creativity reminiscent of old Live while Alive sounds like a Justin Bieber album, if Justin Bieber was still in first grade.

There's plenty of evidence. It's all right there.

I've witnessed some too and have been given first hand account of stories from friends who know a lot of things that the average person doesn't. Even PD's mom has hinted at some stories of Ed's tour bus bullshit and has blown up a few times over Ed's blatant ignorance. Same with Cg's wife. All of this while the guys kept quiet. Til this day, I've not heard Pat say one single negative word anywhere, even from people who speak with him personally. Says a lot for the type of guy he is. For his mother, a mild mannered and nice woman, to voice her discontent at Ed's blatant ignorance?? Says just about everything you need to know right there.
