Don't know if any of you are Surfers fans (as I am), but lead singer Gibby Haynes' dad passed away today. His dad was a local celebrity in Dallas called Mr. Peppermint. For 35 years, his Mr. Peppermint character enthralled us youngsters. I remember my Girl Scout Troop even got to visit his set. He led the longest running locally-produced show in Dallas' history, with more than 6,000 episodes.

As a child that grew up watching him (and also grew up with Gibby), I can honestly say that it is indeed a very sad day!
