I just think its funny that Ed outlasted and was more successful than TGF when it came to active touring, which in turn gave quite a few TGF fans a case of the "sour grapes".

TGF fans got a better album in my opinion. That will last forever. Ed going around covering Live songs is meaningless to me. I've heard it all before and it sounded better the first time.

Maybe when the new Live album comes out Ed will cover those too.

Live Marches On.

I see what you've done here, you've used a question you already know the answer to as a means of pointing out that I have have done something I said I wouldn't do - OMG YOUR DETECTIVE SKILLS ARE UNMATCHED! Yes I have blocked you, but there is a "view post" button where you can view individual posts. I am no longer arguing with you about any specific topics as you are a moron and not worth the time. But trying to encourage others not to bait you on either lest we just keep going around in circles.

People were hating Ed a long time before any TGF vs Ed's success rate shit showed up, nothing to do with sour grapes.
Anyways guys, I thought we were ignoring the cockroach? Enticing him on in the Ed forum is just going to fuel him. Best to just let him stew by himself in the Ed area, he can post all the fantastic reviews he wants of the same old boring show and talk about ticket sales to himself all he wants while the rest of us should be focusing on the music of Live. He has no place in the Live community, just let him have his little Ed area to play in.

The idea is to entice the roach but not to respond to it. Didn't you get the mass memo?

I thought Ed had the better album, but it is all a matter of opinion.

Chris Shinn covering LIVE songs is okay, but Ed covering the songs that he wrote isn't?

It's Ed's band that is the problem as they butcher the songs, that's not a matter of opinion, that's a matter of fact that they're extremely average musicians and if you accept their work as OK then your appreciation for music is just very low. Ed can cover Live songs, it's just he's going to cop flak for doing the same ones over and over and over and over ... I know you like to think that's "good for business", I'm sure Ed does too ... not surprising really since you think so much like he does, treating music as a commercial business industry rather than art.
The fact you can't comprehend how people who love MUSIC are extremely put off by this fraud bastardising the art by putting sales ahead of art and creativity just goes to show how little you actually appreciate about music and why we're just wasting our time. It's music fans arguing with a non music fan

ANYWAYS, that's all besides the point, I really hope the people who dislike Ed can disengage from the Ed specific forum, take some pot shots in the Live forum, since we always discuss the Live music, I think we're entitled to talk about Ed as part of Live's past. The fact that you ONLY care about Ed and only ever have and have no interest in anything else regarding Live, including the music, means you should probably just stick to the Ed area. Because we're just going around and around.

To be honest, I think the Ed-haters will have a hard time staying out of the Ed forum. Ed is just too easy to rip on.

It's one thing to post here, but just don't respond to the Ed slave. Let the slave post in the Live forum all he wants. Again, just don't respond to it.

If he just sticks to his little Ed play pen, then there would be no need for the Ed haters to ever really even see his posts as I know I personally have extremely little interest in anything that goes on here. There's really no need for our paths to cross with his since he's not a Live fan, and the bulk of us aren't Ed fans. If we post in the same area as him people are just going to continue to antagonize and the vortex continues.

If Ed is happy reducing himself to trying to 'rock' out with his all new amazing creativity by butchering old Live songs in a loungy cafe.... then he's entitled to do so. I, however, think that's pretty lame all around. Would much rather have the better art - the single most important component - than vastly inferior art that makes a few extra bucks at these kind of gigs.

Ed claiming he reached the end of a chapter in his life and wanting to do things differently, only to revert to the same thing he has been doing (while completely spurning his former friends and bandmates) is the problem. Whatever the reasoning, you can't use that as your excuse for leaving Live and continue as if you were still in Live. I was completely fine with the open wings stuff.

You do speak the voice of reason.

My intention is that the board should be split up. Just the feeling the Ed's side of the board is so close to the Live board makes me feel... ill. Kind of the way I feel when I went to Live shows and Ed took off his shirt for apparently no reason whatsoever.

Pokey, do you have a problem with Ed's solo/acoustic show as well?

I personally really don't care. I think it's less of a crime against the music to do a solo show because his god awful band isn't there. But I've never said Ed shouldn't be allowed to play Live songs. It's just that he can't seem to branch out from "the hits" and for that he gets very little respect from me as an artist, he's a businessman, not an artist now. I guess the problem I have with it is that he used to be an artist, and used to command a lot of respect of a hell of a lot of people around here, but he's lost that. I'm sure he doesn't care because he's still lining his pockets. I just think becoming a nostalgia act would be absolutely horrible, I'd hate to be advertised as "playing all the hits!".

Yeah I'm getting sucked into the vortex again here.
