He might have to shave his head. But I like the idea of keeping it all in the family. That makes me feel good. And if you listen to his tone and range in this clip, I think he could actually sing the old Live catalog.

Ed has done 99 percent of his own tweets this last year. Ed has outworked TGF by a wide margin since the break-up in 2009(more than double the amount of shows and just a vaster touring scope).

If your post was meant to try and reinforce my point about the vast chasm between philosophies, then well done sir.

And about the tweets - I did notice that Ed wisely backed off from the machine-gun assault of self-promoting Admin tweets that took place until this year (I assume your 99% statistic is correct because I have no doubt that you have run the numbers and keep track of the percentage). He probably came to that realization when he realize how bad it made him look and how his twitter followers were leaving faster than a crowd at a Great White concert in a wooden barn after the pyro-technics start. Cause its all about effective marketing and that didn't have the desired result. But the decision was made to do it and it did happen, which was my point.

Interesting stuff. As ever, it's tough to say how it would 'work' if they replaced Ed but, I have no doubt, they'd retain their integrity in terms of the music... which is all that should matter anyway.

Im not a big LIVE fan, Im here for TGF, but I did enjoy the first 3-4 LIVE albums when they came out.

My question is if CCP want to work with another singer, why do they need to return to LIVE to do this when they already have TGF? Outside of playing the older material live, whats the point? Either way, Im interested in them writing new music and I would support it, I just dont get the reasoning. Most fans are not superfans and will most definitely not support the new LIVE. Even when bands get new singers and release amazing records (see Motley Crue 1994), they get ridiculed.

But, anything can happen.

TGF is clearly making music they enjoy and know the fans will enjoy whether or not it brings them financial riches or not.

Ed is a sell-out who and it's quite apparent in his style of "music".

No doubt. Let them give this thing a try and if it pans out great. If it fails then at least they tried and can finally put Live to rest. Even if Ed came back into the fold it would be hard to take this prick seriously.

How hard he is working is just irrelevant because what should be judged here is the end product, the fruits of this hard labor. To TGF fans that is the music, to you it's Eds bank account and chart placing.

I honestly just don't know if I could view a version of Live without Ed as Live. Even if it were just CCP alone with no lead singer, or keeping it in house with say Adam Taylor singing or if CT sang, or whatever the case, its not the same.

When Johnny Marr left The Smiths and they carried on for a short time with a new guitarist they straight away dropped the name The Smiths and became simply "Morrissey" because without that one guy they ceased to be that entity. When Nick Cave and 3 other members of the Bad Seeds got together it was as "Grinderman" even though they were only missing a couple of extra members that would have created "Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds".

To me if CCP get another lead singer or whatever they do, I know some people say its "just a name", but I'd hope they'd not go in as Live. I know they can do whatever they want obviously, its just my opinion.

Its funny on the flip side, for as much shit as I've given Ed on here I hope people who call myself and others "Ed haters" see where it's coming from. This is how important Ed is, or was to us. None of us "Ed bashers" could say he is easily replaceable.
