I'm assuming most of you won't care at all, but on a serious note from another perspective:

I know Candle Box is still "on tour" but basically the lead singer and guitar player went off, replaced them, and made a new album.

I wonder how the rest of Candle Box actually feels about it (not what they say publically, but what they actually think).

Personally - If my band said "hey, were going to make a "side project" and do a new album with a new guitarist, bass player, and drummer, so ... later" I think I'd feel a little slighted and be pretty pissed about the whole thing.

I've actually seen members of Candlebox posting congrats on the TGF posts by Kevin, Chad T, and Sean. You gotta think they wouldn't do that if they were fuming. C-box has been touring practically non-stop since they reunited, so the break might be a good thing. I also believe the guys from Live attended the Candlebox show at the Chameleon (anyone confirm?).

The two founding members still in the band (Scott and Pete) both actually left the band when they initially broke up over 10 years ago. Scott left before Happy Pills, and Pete after. Kevin was making the fourth Candlebox record as Candlebox but that eventually became the HiWatts album (I think).

So, all that to say, they had both left the band previously to do different projects, so I doubt that this was a huge deal. Both guys are ridiculous musicians who will probably make a good bit of money doing studio work and/or their own projects.

As for Adam, he might be getting the shortest end of the stick as Candlebox won't be touring and his other band King's Royal had Sean as their guitarist. He is one of the younger members so I imagine he won't have too hard of a time finding work given his resume.

In sum, I don't think it is really the middle school band drama that you are looking for, but I imagine it wasn't easy.
