Ed will be on WPLJ 95.5 NYC on April 13th(Scott and Todd in the Morning) to promote the new single and album. Biggest market in the US, hope they finally add the song.

considering the NY radio climate, that's pretty much as big as Live can get exposure-wise. Kind of makes releasing the album a month later look very stupid.

Well unless the song gets airplay in the biggest market in the country, an interview will do them nothing. Having him in a month early, may be able to get this song airplay.

Just for the record (sorry Nick - I gotta say it) WPLJ is owned by Disney. Disney sucks the life out of anything worth listening to. They actually play faster, ever-so-slightly higher-pitched versions of songs, so they can say they play the most music in an hour. The little fucks. I have absolutely ZERO respect for that bullshit. And it wouldn't surprise me if they received $$$$ from record labels to play certain songs more often. I would be more surprised if they DIDN'T accept bribes.

XM radio does that a few times, they did that with "We Deal In Dreams." They played a much faster version. Sounded okay, actually. Have a copy on my computer.

Ed totally killed this morning on PLJ. He was in studio with Matt Gracey. Scott gave Ed lots of props saying that he was one of the voices in the business. Ed thanked him and came across very humble and cool at the same time. He performed awesome acoustic versions of Lightning Crashes and Heaven. They closed out by playing the guitars up version of "The River." This was the first time PLJ played the song and it drew rave reviews from everyone in attendance.

It was an awesome showing by Ed. If PLJ gets behind the song, which it looks like they will, it could have a big ressurgence in the US. It sounded awesome on the radio......total hit if Epic starts the push!

Also, those in attendance really did love the new song - I thought I heard the guitars up version! I thought I was hearing things...

I think on a format like WPLJ, a song like "The River" can do great things. Now that it was finally played, especially on that show in the morning, its likely that many people will request it. I only caught the last minutes of the interview and would appreciate it if someone who downloaded it would post a link please. Did Ed say anything about American Idol or not. I did hear him sing and yes he was on point, very gracious and humble.
I'm gonna call PlJ and request the River and those bastards better play it.

I just received a cd of this appearance today, the only thing is that 90% of the volume is on the right channel. I'll normalize/track/mp3 it and try it have it online tomorrow though. (I'll post a new thread with links to the mp3's when I'm done).
