I cry foul on the voting. Really sounds suspect to me. People who voted for Honest Man (152) most certainly voted for TGF album to be voted as Album of the year as well. Hence we don't even see it with the same # of votes. Sounds really fishy to me. I hope AA is called out for this.

I dunno dude, i wouldn't bother going into conspiracies and shit on this. Of course Ed is going to come out on top with something like this though, he's the bigger name. Why Ed should be anywhere on a poll that has the word "Alternative" in the title is beyond me though.

Not going to linger on it. Sounds totally suspect on the voting. I'm sure the Ed votes are consistent with the exposure on he's gotten on that site. But my observation certainly has plenty of merit.

I dunno, have you not thought that one song is the stand out song for the year, but a particular album by another band might be your overall fav? It's not really hard to consider ... most people that aren't a regular poster here probably dont have that same loyal TGF attatchment that we do. They might have thought Honest Man was an awesome track, but one of their fav bands might have released an album this year... over 17k votes for Grace and not even half of that for Alive, don't see why the same wouldn't happen with TGF. I wouldn't give it a second thought. Plus, what is any ones motivations for doing anything dodgey here?

Just find it odd, that folks who did vote for Honest Man voted for other records of the year. You make a good point but I would certainly think TGF got at least min 152 votes and made the top 20. Color me biased. nod.gif

The Grace single had over 17,000 votes, but the Alive album only had a bit over 3000. I believe there is more vote participation on the song chart than the album counterpart.

Yeah this was my point, if by the logic of single vote = album vote, then Alive would have 17k or so votes. I just think that with things like radio its album much more single orientated than album. When you listen to the radio they just play single songs. More people remember the song than know what album it was from, or even went out and got the album. I think it's just nit picking now tongue.gif

The voting thing on AA required you to vote on all 3 segments before the vote was tallied in full, not simply one of your choosing.

Am I the only one here that thinks if TGF had released Crying Time and had some promotion behind it that the song would have been a huge hit?
