Mediation doesn't really mean anything, it'll just get everybody in a room (or at least their lawyers) to see if a settlement can be reached. Sometimes they are successful, sometimes they are a huge waste of time and money.

I guess we will know shortly which one.

On March 28th, Ed and CCP's lawyers signed a Stipulation of Discontinuance. It looks like the case has been settled.

Q.
What is a Stipulation of Discontinuance?

A:
When a lawsuit is settled in New York, the attorneys who are bringing the lawsuit must provide an agreement known as a stipulation of discontinuance, to the lawyers who represent the people who have been sued. This document must then be signed by all the attorneys in the case which confirms that the case has been ended voluntarily.
