But the fact that family members - especially brothers - can hate each other like no one else does point to the fact that being family doesn't guarantee anything. (Hey, shouldn't gotirz show up to point out the story of Cain & Abel right about now? lol.gif )

Oh believe me I agree. Though, If Adam does harbor any ill will towards Ed, it clearly isn't enough for him to abandon his career.

I also don't think that anyone here is trying to undermine Ed's credibility, except based on what has already been revealed by people much closer to the situation than us. Believe me, even without the reported money scandal, Ed had already done enough to wreck his credibility at least in my eyes.

Absolutely this, Ed with his phone calls, coffee, pendants, his dickish attitude in person, redundant stage show etc... it certainly hasn't leant itself to making his side of the story more believable. I'm not as shocked as I guess I would be if it were 1998 and suddenly it broke that for the past few years Ed had been screwing over his friends, THAT would have shocked the hell out of me.

Sometimes I wonder if I should be grateful to Ed for easing us into this break for 10 years lol.
It would have sucked if this came out of nowhere right after TDTH. Then I'd be shocked and upset.
But thank you Ed for making crappy choices and subpar music through the years, it made it so much easier to swallow this break.
Live musically was dead to me for few years now so it was actually a relief to find out that the other 3 guys wanted to go in another direction.

So I say: THANK YOU da EK lol.gif All are welcome to thank him. smile.gif

I have been told that Sally is the mother of someone close to the band formerly known as Live. When she speaks, you listen. She speaks the truth fellas.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. Although I was pissed off about it the whole time, now I am sort of glad it went down like that. If this happened in 1998 I would have been beyond devastated.

QUOTE(FishOutaWater @ May 5 2010, 10:27 am) *

I've been lucky. I have met each member of Live many, many times. And I can say that my personal interactions with all 4 of them strongly inform my opinions of who are the good guys in this whole thing. I've seen Ed treat me and many others like crap. I've seen Chad, Chad, Pat and Adam hanging out together and with the roadies and managers before and after shows and Ed pulling the "rock star" attitude and blowing the others off. I have nothing but positive, impressive experiences with Chad, Chad and Pat. I've met plenty of famous people and I can honestly say that they were the most friendly, down to earth performers that I have met. My limited personal knowledge of the kind of people that Chad, Chad and Pat are have caused me to side with them in this whole thing and have made me biased.

I can totally relate to this quote. Being a female, Ed was probably nicer to me than he was to you but Patrick & the Chad's were always FAR more personable.
To whomever questioned Adam's loyalty to Ed...really? How can you be surprised at that?!

Nobody questioned Adam's loyalty. The debate has been about whether being Ed's brother ensures that he would stick to him even if he knew that Ed were guilty.
The realistic answer to that is: probably, but not necessarily.

The world is full of siblings who don't stick together. And maybe they shouldn't, if one of them is a bastard or guilty of a serious crime.

I don't believe Ed or the other guys need to explain anything. The situation sucks but its none of our business. Sure we would like an explanation but sometimes there is none. They don't have to tell us anything. Some bands have members who they hate but still manage to make good music with. When this whole sad situation began I swore not to pick sides. So I am Switzerland. I will give both parties the benefit of the doubt when it comes to new music. This bickering between people is childish if you ask me.Please don't jump on me its my honest opinion. Peace.

Not going to dump on you Deb. You are entitled to staying on the fence.

After reading the posts which discuss the musical direction change and C&C&P not being part of the process, I had to offer this backing information. The small number of times they did in the past 10 years or so resulted in Like I Do. I think that song got buried and not promoted. (by either the record company or Ed nixing it for his softer side).

Listen to this gem where Ed takes the mixed Like I Do from TLA's place to Miami radio and plays it. He states that the band did an old school effort to create it. You know this is a full collaboration. The song totally rocks and has the edge & emotion. Listen to the person who calls in and gived Ed his opinion of the song (as he just heard it). If the direction didn't get one sided, Live would have had another 5+ million seller at some point. I firmly believe this. The fans wouldn't have left in droves and I for one, wouldn't have been left for 10 years of wondering when things were gonna change. You can only polish that turd so many times...it's still a turd. Simple thing to take from the interview is that Ed's not being honest with somethings being asked....the musical direction is all him and the others are left holding the bag.

We prob got 6 or so good songs in this period which were band centric. I appreciate the comment where the story of the band loyalty was kept up. C&C&P seem to me to be the utmost in patience and respect until things simply deteriorated to the point of no return. I applaud C&C&P for taking their ball and go home. I have been hoping for the past 5 years for it to get moving someplace else. This clip is from March 2003 or so. It was circulated from either this site or illout or FOL.

Which of the three?

Secondly, my fury was directly generally, and was prompted (like fan frustration with various band members) by a bunch of examples.

Ok, sorry for that than. I thought it could be that. But I thought about that later.

Ha, I remember this interview as well. I remember even playing a ripped version of Like I Do for a friend and telling them LIVE is back! (oops!) guess i was wrong about that one! I was so pumped for BOP when I heard Like I Do and What Are We Fighting For? But that too soon faded after hearing the rest of the material. I still think the extended version of She should have been a single instead of Run Away. That would have been a big hit. Reminded me of Dolphins Cry a bit and that would have gained some radio play for sure after Heaven hit it big. O well! I still like BOP overall but it was definately the last (LIVE) album as far as I am concerned. I will never count SBFM in the catelog.

Far from dumping on you, I wish more people could stay neutral. In my own weird way, it's what I'm trying to do (until I lose my cool as inevitably happens) when I tell people that I don't believe an accusation without physical proof, no matter how inside or cool the person who made it.
