... to some random music on youtube, and i came across "the one i love" by REM. is it me or does the first 20 sec's sound a lot like "all over you"? not exactly... just similar, and i was wondering if the music to "the one i love" influenced the music written for "all over you".

The two songs are absolutely bollock all like each other. The only similarity REM and Live have ever shared is a bald lead singer with similar taste in khaki and red t-shirts about 15 years back.

no, i'm not here to gloat about anything... i just happened to notice something similar about the two songs... listen to them again, and it's mainly just the beat and how it starts off really loud and fast and then suddenly becomes quiet and slow.

and, to say that rem and live don't have anything in common outside of a bald singer and the clothes is ignorant of a band that you claim to be a fan of. rem influenced live's music heavily... ed, even admitted that.
