oke, I still don't understand what EXACTLY happened. Please fill me in.

2005
(before, after, during) writing SFBM, Ed signed something all the other guys didnt know about, but what exactly? It was bad for the other guys, but how came it that they didnt notice it for 4 years

2005-2009
Everyone was "happy", SFBM release, Radiant Sea, Live at the Paradiso was recorded (an at that time Ed and Chad still did their happy jump-dance during Lakini's Juice). Also, the pre-show footage shown was them being a happy band (remember Pat? hehe). I guess it was in this time that the other 3 thought Ed was a bit too much of an ego, but still "supported him", according to Chad. Between 2006 en 2008 there were more and more solo shows tho.

early 2009
Band/Ed says they're working on new material, that will sound Forever/Purifier-ish, and band rehearsed together for the first time in quite some time. They even brought songs like Hold me Up back. It was in this period 'Believe' showed up.
At the other hand, Ed continued with his late 2008 started solo-shows and created his first own song (Zion), that at first, was stated, to be for the band Live ("I can wait to add the band to this song" -EK).

2009 (May)
Live was asked to perform as surprise act Pinkpop 2009, Ed asked the management to ask the other 3 if they agree with Ed getting 100.000 extra? So at that time they didnt even interacted with each other anymore or what? Why? - because Chad said they found out about the 2005-thing during the hiatus/break, and so after May?

post- may 2009
Band said they wanted a break, I guess both for creative reasons as for the whole Ed ego thing. Last few shows were performed in July in which they acted like they had some kind of fight with Ed (at least for me it seemed like that), but these shows were already planned months earlier. It was this period they found out about the 2005 contract, right? When they discovered this ("a stap in the back of his friends") for Chad it was obvious it was over and didnt want to perform with Ed ever again.

For me there are some missing pieces in between... what exactly happened?

I think we have the story ... just not the full details and I doubt either party of Taylor or Ed will go that much into detail.

I don't know the answers to any of this but all I know is....the part about the $100,000 extra. That is the part that angers me....how greedy. Most people do not even make that amount of money in a year at their jobs!!! bomb.gif

lol I tweeted Gracey and asked him if Kevin Martin was getting his $100k lead singer bonus, CG's reply was "Nope! Kevin would never ask for that, he's a cool mofo!"

Taylor should have just uppded the ante "Ok sure you get that, but I get the $250k lead guitar bonus ok?"

Anyone who has attended the shows from late TDTH on out can clearly see a change in Ed's attitude on being band centric to front man ego centric.

Go back and revist the mtv documetary where he chides them jokingly saying that they don't know it yet but he's taking over.........I honestly believe that was his end game all along.

To me Ed made this demand probably knowing he wasn't going to get it. There were already deep-rooted problems within the band, and this was more than likely his way to not have to do the show.

The "lead singer bonus" was never an issue the first 20 years of the band, why then would it become an issue in the final 2 months?

Maybe it wasn't an issue because there never was a lead singer bonus before? Maybe he never had the gaul to demand one before ... maybe he went off the deep end and went so far up his own ass he thought everyone would agree and think its a great idea.

Saying he did it to get out of performing is weak, if he didn't want to perform im sure he would have just declined the offer to perform.

Maybe the usual lead singer bonus was $50.000, maybe just nobody offered a bonus before. We just don't know. Without a single fact, this whole discussion is rather ridiculous.

Maybe all the guys usually get $100k bonuses except Ed, but this time he figured he should get one too - and Taylor shot him down. "Know your roll, Ed..... and shut your mouth".

i agree hey, im still not comfortable slamming ed as the villain in all of this, as i said before im waiting on his detailed response or until all the facts come into light. And i think it was a bit low of CT to post that letter via the fol newsletter, where ed has contact with many of his fans. I dont think the letter was detailed enough to really expose ed as a bad guy. i take no sides
