I just saw David Gilmour in concert on Wednesday at Radio City Music Hall, and I must say, it was absolutely incredible. Definitely the best concert I've ever been to, and that's saying a lot. When Echoes was played, it was pure musical orgasm. I think I can die happy now. I never thought I'd ever see even one-fourth of Pink Floyd perform live, but I saw TWO-fourths (Richard Wright, keyboardist was also there). All the classics were played, and the new album done live was truly brilliant. Comfortably Numb was beyond amazing to close the show -- theres nothing like having it played right in front of you like that. David is a master, plain and simple. God, I am still getting over this.

Is/has anyone (been) fortunate enough to see David live on his tour? Who has the new album? Anyone who is a fan of great music should check out David's new album, On An Island. It's a fantastic record, easily my favorite release of the year so far. Where We Start, Take a Breath, On an Island, and a Pocketful of Stones are my favorite tracks from it, but every number is truly outstanding. Highly recommended.

Great album. Tied with synchestra for my top album of the year so far. But then Radioheads new album will be out soon... so I don't think those will remain in first place for much longer.

Oh yeah, that's right, I'll have to check that one out. I think I'll order it for my birthday (I don't have to pay! Woohoo...).

It is a very good album, and I have a few friends who did see him on this tour. They all loved it.

I saw Pink Floyd in 1972 and 1994. The '94 show was probably the best concert I've ever seen. Pink Floyd is certainly one of the greatest bands of all time!

David Gilmour is my all time favorite musician, I really wish he came up to New England. I wanted to go to see him in NYC, but the timing didn't work out angry.gif

I'm sure the show was AWESOME! Roger Waters is playing up here in September, he puts on a great show too, but I'd much rather see Gilmour guitar.gif

I have quite a few DVDs of Pink Floyd with and without Waters, Roger Waters with his own band and David Gilmour solo. They are all great! I'm hoping this tour comes out on DVD.

I haven't picked up On An Island yet, I will hopefully get it this weekend. He is supposed to be re-releasing his two early solo albums David Gilmour and About Face. If you don't already have these you should get them!

Hey man. Say, are you the guy from the Where Freaks Talk board that's in the band called "Echo"? You're the bigtime Floyd fan, right? Yooooooo, how's it going dude? I definitely remember you. I should make a trip back to that board one of these days.

Wow, I would've given anything to have seen them back in 1972! Right when they started touring with Dark Side of the Moon, and were still playing stuff from Meddle and the early days. Man, you're a lucky guy. But yeah, I haven't heard one bad review from David's entire tour so far. The show was incredible.

DreamWalker, I'm sorry you couldn't get to see him...I'm sure there will be a DVD though. Also, be sure to pick up the new album, it's amazing.

Yeah, Roger Waters will be touring, and I'll probably be seeing him, but I know that it won't be as good as the Gilmour show, exactly. I, too, favor Gilmour over Waters...but the reality is Pink Floyd would be nothing without the input from both Waters and Gilmour. Do you have Gilmour's other solo albums? They're pretty good actually -- I like the self titled one more, but About Face is good too. David was playing material from both of his other solo albums on the Europe tour.

Also, one last thing, On An Island will be released in 5.1 Surround Sound DVD-A, which is pretty freaking cool news to me.

Will be waiting for you on wft victory.gif

Tho i couldn't attend any of Dave's gigs i'm downloading his Mermaid Theatre concert of 2006-03-07 (562Mb). They played Echoes and What's...the deal? there i guess.

Certainly Dave over Roger solowise, but only together they have chemistry.
Still love Amused to Death!!!!!!

PS and once again: Will be waiting for you on wft victory.gif
