That's cool - I don't like Nick's approach.

Maybe if OTD gave Ed a little cred, and if Sacco gave TGF a little respect and love we'd all just get along.

Maybe if you care to see, I have given Ed lots of cred for what he built with the other 3. Many times, been gracious with that, but really should I give him credit for being the biggest reason for destroying the sanctity of the band? Heck not. His actions to this day are still about having a bigger head. It's so big that he can't see past his nose. It's not about 2 folks at odds, it's way slanted to the Live / TGF side by many others opinions, interactions and their history with the band. I am just one of those voices, no more, no less.

My story about being told Live broke up (person telling me 'done'), hence I came here to check on news & validity and finding a band hiatus. I wasn't confused whatsover. I caught up with the board for a day or before I posted. I even stated that whatever was causing the hiatus that they could find their peace and get back together making real collaborative Live music....you're rich and fantastic with your words. I didn't get really pissed after the CT blog, but for years felt the divide was widening, as many many other good folks here. Out to Dry in terms of being put off by the band's direction and I basically stopped following, and an analogy of a BOP song. I guess I have to spell it out better but I like to be 'subtle'

What was the point of bumping your "out to lunch" thread?

My whole big ass claim was that you were making very deliberate waves before the breakup. And then in response to my claim, you bumped your "out to lunch" thread, which only proved that I was right about how you arrived here before the breakup. You were completely agreeing with what I claimed about the timing. That's why I saw you as being confused about the events (hiatus and breakup), because, let me say it again, what would be the point of bumping your thread to argue with me, if you were just agreeing with me.

Then you make this comment which solidified it:
"I actually didn't know they broke up until I read it here"

Why bump your very first post, your "out to lunch" thread, about the HIATUS, and then comment that you didn't know about the BREAKUP until you read it here. Sure, you eventually read about the breakup here, but obviously that would be impossible at the time that you created the "out to lunch" thread. You seemed confused with your recollection and the distinction between the breakup and the hiatus when you bumped it.

Then you tell a story where a guy sitting next to you on a plane also thought the the band broke up, even though they were only on hiatus at the time. I thought, what are the odds that this guy on the plane would make that mistake when nobody was officially calling it a breakup, and why is this guy on the plane having the same exact confusion about the breakup and hiatus as OTD.

In the end, I don't have anything to say right now except it's a curious story.

And I'll also concede that maybe I'm totally confused, but if you want to clear that up I'll have an open mind about it.

I don't get why you even bother arguing with them Bob. They are both completely useless. I basically talk at them based on their utter silliness and don't bother responding edgewise. As far as I'm concerned, they're both so far gone and idiotic, that wasting my time any further than saying what I have to say would be completely fruitless. It would be just like arguing with my 6 year old, completely inane and pointless.

Same with that Live4life lady....in my mind, a complete fool. People that state one thing, then turn around and say they didn't say anything of the sort. So simply point ou their bullshit, then laugh and walk away. They're not worth your time bro. You're dealing with people who aren't on the same plane as you and I mentally. Continuing to argue and carry on with Nick in this manner is just completely asinine. You will never come to a mutual resolution with him because he is simply mentally incapable of logical reasoning due to his obsession.

I honestly think that he is in dire need of psychological help, no insult intended. He is in another world somewhere and none of you are going to convince him any differently. Ed is god and CCP are the bad guys. I know for fact that not to be true so I no longer argue with him about it.

Honestly it is the dumbest argument to have ever gone down on the board which could easily just be summed up with "heh well that's a coincidence, oh well moving on". But you're bringing the guys character into question and that just doesn't seem on to me.

hes claiming a need for psychological analysis. i wasn't. i was just asking questions, not talking like i knew anything about psychological analysis. i was asking you what you think your life would be like with that sort of post count, and what your mental state would be, as in maybe you would find it very consuming or tiring, or motivated because it was your job. not talking about being mentally ill necessarily. and i told otd i was sorry about stating any conclusion about his psychological well being.

i don't pop up at most times for nick. but you know well that sometimes the nick bashing was over the top, and i felt like saying something about it, maybe a few times at most.

you keep saying i don't agree with myself. i told you that i just felt suspicious and that speculation is fine. and maybe you could find a point in being noble, not that i find what i do noble or anything.

Listen, bottom line is that Live were in trouble for years. It happens and it shouldn't come as any surprise that people grow apart as they hit 30. Even Chad has said that he had trouble communicating after some time had passed between them getting back together.

People in these positions go back and spend time with their families and return different people. A long time ago, these guys started having thei differences. Ed especially. Stopped hanging with the other 3 and even got his own separate dressing room. They stopped going out after shows and basically went their separate ways on most occasions. Although I'm not completely sure, it seems the same thing happned with the music itself. It was no longer a get together and collaboration, it was a get together, with Ed having written his own music and bringing it in as if it was what was going to come to fruition. That's where some of the communication gaps came in. CT especially had some of his own ideas and they weren't being accepted as possible ideas for the bands upcoming recorded music.

It got to the point where the guys just weren't willing to accept Ed's ideas anymore and let him rule the roost. They did not agree with the music anymore(not that they ever had) and everything finally came to a head. Three albums of complete musical failure was about it. They wanted to be part of the creative influence again, and Ed wasn't letting that happen.

Just look at what CCP created with TGF, and compare it to SFBM....you notice much of a difference there? I think the mistake was not CCP not stopping the buck after V. They let it get too far without communicating to Ed that they weren't happy going that way anymore. And when they did, it blew up. Some of what happened in between, only those guys know and MOST IMPORTANTLY, it's only their business.

I've stopped bagging on Ed completely. I've made up my mind that I lost all respect for him as an artist and a human being. Maybe it's warranted, maybe not. But it's my opinion. I think you all just need to let it rest. If Ed comes back eventually, so be it. For now, he isn't. GEt over it. Will the new Live succeed?? I don't know. But I do know that I'll like it more than the pure garbage we've gotten over the past 3 albums. I want nothing more to do with that. I'm positive that the new brand of music will be a billion times more creative musically.

Will I miss Ed?? Fuck yeah, he was a huge part of this band and I still love his performances of the old catalogue. But his new music sucked completely in every single sense of the word. There was utterly no sense in these four people continuing to make more music that was not successful in any way shape or form.

sorry i made a joke that got out of hand, thought this was bag central. I just found it amusing how one second he swore off any idea of working with Chad, and then the next he was withholding classified information. Truthfully, I wanted to get that joke in because I thought, theres a tiny chance that maybe he was being serious about going on a hiatus - like the OTD campaign/contract had run its course upon the emergence of the new Live website launch and singer announcement. he could post 5000 times after being totally silent, why would he not be inclined to leave for a while after a post hurricane as well? wild imagination i know.
