It looks like the CD was released on Australia's version of Itunes on Nov. 11th. Where was the promotion in one of Live's largest markets?!

Weird. I had people emailing me on Facebook through my FOL group about an Australian release. Last I read on FOL.com, a date was still pending for AUS/NZ.

I haven't heard a thing ... then again I've detached myself from the radio which is really the only way Live is advertised here so who knows ... I have a friend who is forced to listen to Triple M all day at work (poor bastard) and he hasn't mentioned ever hearing a new Live song, he's not so keen on them but knows I like them so would say something.

I think Live is slowly going to become a dying market here ... concert goers are changing in generation and Live is seen as an old band (that is the people who have heard of them) ... I heard many mumblings at the last gig that people were unhappy because bar a couple of songs the concert was exactly the same as the last time they came here ... see the ordinary fan does notice this!

Either way, im still gonna pick up the live CD ... not so keen on the DVD anymore, without its best songs like WD, Iris, Shit Towne, Sofia etc it just doesnt seem all that great, plus the clips with the CRAZY WACKY ZOOMING IN AND OUT CUT TO 15 DIFFERENT SHOTS IN 2.7 SECONDS really didn't appeal, infact it almost made me nauseous like shaky cam does in Bourne movie fight scenes or Cloverfield did.

I know what your saying there is NO promotion or even talk of LIVE CD/DVD here.

Further; a friend of mine went to LIVE'S last show in Bris and was sooooo dissapointed with it all - the setlist - the energy - and especially Ed's voice! and He is not a hardcore fan by any stretch.

I disagree though with the filming thing, I didn't think from what I've seen that it was "CRAZY WACKY ZOOMING" nowhere near the "CRAZY WACKY" of Bourne or Cloverfield...

Maybe you gotta see more of the clips on youtube ... I could barely concentrate on the song because the film was just all over the place ... the audio however is hard to fault so far from where I hear, a great recording.

I watched all of those clips again, I can see what you mean; in the faster songs like TSUFL its kinda like the 'perpetual fim-clip' I definitely wouldn't say Cloverfield but if you were concentrating on camera changes it might be annoying.

Ed sounds pretty good though - i gotta tell you when he does that bluesy sort of moan? its sounds great.

No one will ever tell me his voice hasn't changed though.

Pokey, dammit, seconded with the folming issues. Have not had a chance to watch the full dvd as of yet, but watched several songs, especially during LJ, this jumping actually gets at my brain. Last time I saw it was the Depeche Mode live in Milan dvd. Absolutely the same way of filming. Distracts from the show horrifically.

I picked up my copy of the DVD-only version this morning from 78 Records. I had pre-ordered it a couple of weeks ago. They don't have any more stock but if you go there they can order one in for you. I guess they won't have multiple copies until it's officially released in Australia.

I completely agree. I just watched it and I not only couldn't concentrate on anything being shot, but it was so often and then they'd do the blurrycam and then a fast edit that it gave me a headache and I had to stop watching it.

The CD's great though... save for the cut songs.

Oh well... I guess there's always next time... hopefully in less than 15 years.

I actually like the way the DVD was filmed. It makes you like you are actually at the Paradiso, and not just a distant spectator. You can watch any youtube video of the band and see a static, far away angle of the performance. Kudos for the band for trying something different.
