Listening now. There was a thread here earlier that mentioned that the band was playing older songs at a much faster pace, and I just didn't see it.

But now.... well, I've never heard All Over You or Operation Spirit played so quickly.

Triple post!

Just a quick question.... as some people were complaining about the castrated nature of the whole thing, I was wondering if anyone had the full setlist for both shows?

Just got the CD at Target. It wasn't in the new release section and there were only 3 left when I arrived although there might have been 3 total to start with.
No DVD there or at WalMart where there wasn't even a CD which surprised me. And I highly doubt they were sold out.

Anyway the CD sounds great and it does feel like you're right there at the show with the way Ed and the music sound and the crowd especially. Kept it clean by Ed not sayin' 'get the fuck up' during Lakini's Juice. Nice to see Turn My Head included which adds an acoustic guitar here.

I have to say I was caught off guard by Purifier. I was like who is this?! Is this the old rockin' Live? The song gave me goosebumps. Excellent song that would definitely be a hit on any hard rock station. When I heard that John Popper and his harmonica would be on the tune I was a little leery but it doesn't come thru as being harmonicy if that makes any sense. A good sound and fit.

If they stay on the path of Purifier they will have one hell of CD workin'.

okay off to find the DVD somewhere...

grr ok so the more I think about it the more it's just fucking ridiculous that Iris, White Discussion, Shit Towne, Sofia, Mirror song (and to a lesser extent Wings and TSUFL) have been cut from the DVD ... unless the recordings got fucked up in some way I just dont see the logic. I under stand the CD has limited space but not the DVD .... if you gave me the whole set list and asked me to pick the top two songs I was looking forward to seeing the most on the DVD it would be WD and Iris ... do you think its possible Live will release these at a later date? part of a pack with a new album or christmas gift cos the fact that they're out there and recorded but not released totally sucks I gotta say.

My first thought when I saw the edited tracklisting was that they wre going to use those tracks as bonuses for the DVD or Holiday Gifts. When turkish posted about TSUFL as iTunes bonus my thought foung another proof. SO there. Now you are posting about it Eamon. They will all surface. I bet.

on another note, downloading from Itunes right now. Included in the bonus track TSUFL. Look for it sometime today in the multimedia section!

Thanks for (eventually) posting the song in the MM section, Turkish... that's nice of you... especially for the people that bought the CD either from FOL (like me), Amazon or in-store, if they could find it. I wish Amazon MP3 had it in 256kbps rather than in iTunes 128kbps, but I'll take what I can get.

I'm a bit pissed that they didn't include that song on the CD. I'm actually really pissed that they didn't include the whole concert on CD, but I'm betting they did that so they didn't have to shell out an extra 20 cents per disc to have a 2-CD set.

Actually, I can't blame Live on that. Maybe it was the record company that made that decision and there was nothing Live could do about it if they wanted a huge release with record company backing.

Please let us know when it's posted! smile.gif

I just got done watching the DVD, and I have to say, this is a fantastic DVD. I don't think too many of you will be disappointed. It's a nice addition to anyone's Live collection.

Initially I was disappointed in the sound. I got myself comfortable in the couch, hooked up the best headphones I have, and popped in the DVD. I noticed a lot of static when Ed would sing, it was a minor distraction. But then I pressed the DVD menu, and there's a nice feature where you can select dolby stereo 2.0 (creates a static in headphones), DTS, and Dolby surround 5.1. I changed it to 5.1, and the sound is brilliant..flawless!

I'm not a fan of the editing style, with the lack of long takes during the songs. Sometimes, it seems like every second, the camera flashes to a new view. It's more of like a music video than a real concert recording. In other DVDs, I imagine this would take away from the raw energy of the concert, but Live somehow manages to captivate the feeling of the concert very well.

Highlight so far would have to be I Alone. How many times have we seen this in concert? But this never gets old. The intro kicks ass with Ed belting out his crying chant.. it's unreal! And funny moment for me during the lyrics, "to cradle this baby in space", a flee flew around my screen.. almost got up to try and swat it. Well, then I rewinded that bit, and it was a flee flying around Ed's microphone. lol.gif It's really HD!

Last but not least, the crowd at the Paradiso absolutely rocked. You made this DVD 10x more enjoyable! bowdown.gif

Maybe you're right. But if so, it's still very wrong. Because then we'll now stuck with an imcomplete DVD that could have been complete. I mean, if you release a DVD for the first time in 15 years, it's not just something, you must make it as good as possible. And not just letting songs off to release it later, apart from that DVD.
Don't get me wrong, I think it's real great DVD, but if the songs are made available later (video or audio) I feel like they could have made this DVD even more stronger.

For now I'm really digging this DVD, and will watch it many, many times in the future rockin.gif

Yeah, I think it's indeed really cool. I Alone is one of the highlights. Also the opening (the audience, evertything's dark, the weird sound tones, and than Live comes up) is quite exciting. I was also blown away by I walk the Line. I know exaclty how it is played by Live in last 4 years. I turned up the volume of my soundsystem, and still I was reeeeally impressed the first time Chad's guitar kicked in. It's amazing how Live such an old (and some say 'simple') song can make as rockin' as they do. Look at the audience, damnn!

Btw, as far as I remembered from the first night, Ed didn't talk much during the Paradiso show. Well I guess the second night was much different in that, Ed is actually talking a lot in between the songs on the DVD. Ohw and what the hell was he talking about when he talks about handnotes of Johnny Cash' mother? shrug.gif .
Ohw and actually the story before Mirror Song was also funny lol.gif although I already heard that when he told something like that at the Jensen show, 2006.

Did any Canadians find either the CD or the DVD+CD in stores today? I went, excited to lay my hands on it, and I was surprised to hear that the release was pushed back to the 25th of this month. HMV was the store that gave me that date, which is weird because they told me over the phone a few weeks ago that it was set for the 11th. So, I went to Future Shop, Wal-Mart, and even Zellers to see if they had it. None of them did. So, my ass waits until the 25th, or I suppose I could buy it online. Just wondering if the release date was pushed back for all of Canada, or just Shit Towne, Ontario.

I'm shocked this dvd is not in widescreen. I have a widescreen flat panel HD tv, and when I watch this in full screen, it's all stretched, like I'm watching A&E.. it's horrible. Why didn't they make this available in widescreen?

I'm really surprised that this is the case. The videos that were made available on YouTube were in the 16:9 aspect ratio.

I've heard of movies being cropped down to 4:3 for people to appease people who have old CRT televisions, but there should still be a widescreen version of the movie available. I would try to return the DVD and purchase the DVD from an alternate chain of stores.

Just finished watching the DVD. Two words - BUY IT!!! Seriously, it is really good. 16x9 aspect with GREAT DTS sound!! I had goosebumps throughout the whole show. I am so happy this is finally here. We all need to buy at least one copy (if not more) to support our boys. They will only make another one if this is a success. So buy the DVD & CD (got mine at Best Buy - last copy of DVD). This is done really well. Sound is LOUD and excellently mixed. Ed sounds great (ignore the complaints). The other boys sound really good too. Adam is there as well. I REALLY liked it being in a small venue - kinda like when they come to my city.

Only things that would make it better - Blu-Ray and White Discussion, Run to the Water & Iris. I would pay mega bucks for the full two-day concert. Even without Blu-Ray, my player upconverted it nicely.

Go buy this, grab a few drinks, and rock out!

Went to buy mine at Best Buy. They only had 2 cd's and I bought one of them. They did not have the DVD at all.

I have to say, after listening to the whole thing, I really like the two new songs and the fact that all of the songs are from the same show, but I think the live cuts compiled on Radiant Sea sound way better than the live cuts from Live at the Paradiso.

If someone said that they've never heard of the band I'd burn them the live RS stuff and throw in a couple other songs including Purifier and Forever.
