Discussing the video's, #3 - Run to the water Options

Well as I forgot a lill about opening some new topcis about the videos (I only did 2 threads). It was meant as a follow up of the topics that discussed each album, or even each song (years ago 'song of the day'), I was thinking it would be usefull to discuss each video every week, or day or something. Just to get the board live. Can be interesting when somebody wants to know the meaning of the video, where was it shot?, the guys in that period of their carreer, does it fit the song?

Run to the Water

I must say I've always liked this video. It has the TDTH-feeling over it. Just like TDC video, the theme is water, but it is used in a totally different way than their video for TDC, and that's quite cool. I also think it's one of the few video's by Live that tells a little story. But giving all the four bandmembers a role in that story (although their roles apart from Ed, aren't really special), is nice. Maybe a good addition had been if there were some shots in between where they were playing their instruments, but i guess the video is too short for that.

btw, the only thing ive never understood is why at the end - when everyone is happy, including the soldiers (or what they are) because of the rain and the returning of the water, and the bottle of water that had been stolen doesn't matter anymore - they (the soldiers) still want to attack the rebels (played by Ed, Chad, Pat and Chad) with throwing the projectile at them. Why?

I like the TDC video just a little more because of the rock feel in it, but RTTW is certainly one of my favorite Live videos

btw: does anybody know if the TDC and RTTW videos had the same director?
