Do you guys think Ed will thank Blues Traveler and Collective Soul during Live's set during this summer's tour. The only times I ever saw Ed thank anyone was during the first triple play show last year in Delaware and this year in Hershey with Breaking Benjamin. I never understood why he usually doesn't thank other performers, is it ego or indifference? It has been my only real complaint about the band since I became a fan.

The best shot for a thank you is at Red Rocks, otherwise I just don't see it happening. I hope I'm wrong.

I'm not sure, but if they don't, they should.

If you don't know then I'm not sure why this was a raisable issue, really...

Bands that I know who usually thank their opening acts: Matchbox 20, Bon Jovi, Collective Soul, Train, and I'm not sure who else off the top of my head. I think it would be cool if Live would start doing it. I'm sure opening bands would appreciate the mention.

Matchbox Twenty, well, Rob Thomas, thanks the opening band(s) at every show for sure.

A lot of performers DON'T, tho.

That is one thing I do respect about Rob Thomas. He goes out of his way to mention the other bands that played that evening, sometimes he even does it twice. Not only does it help cut the tension between different fanbases, but its just the right thing to do.

Haha, what awful music.

It's hard to believe that you care about Ed thanking other bands enough to start a thread about it.

Does it even matter? It's not like the other acts are nobodies either, the crowd don't need to be reminded of their name. Sure it might be polite to thank the opening act but it's not that big of a deal. I can't believe THIS is your only gripe with the band, not the setlist, not the music, not the lyrics, just ... Ed not thanking the opening act??? Did anyone else even notice this was a "problem"? also how on earth can you say that Red Rocks is the best chance of a thankyou being said? how is it any different to any other gig when they have an opening band?
Also, how do you know Ed isn't thanking bands at gigs you haven't been to? I think this calls for everyone to pull together and make notes on whether Ed thanks bands or not at gigs that Nick isn't going to, all you dutchies should take note of this. At the end of the tour we need to compare the stats and then send them off to Live's management, it's the only way this problem can be rectified!!

I've heard of opening acts thanking the main acts before, but I've never actually witnessed a main act thanking an opening act.

Not really a big deal to me...

I've been to enough shows(34) to know that Ed does not thank usually opening bands. He may thank Blues Traveler at Red Rocks because Live is the opener, but I doubt they will the majority of the tour. I love Live's music, and they mix up the setlist now more than they ever have before in their careers, but thanking bands has always been a gripe of mine. I think a mention by the headliner means a lot to the openers, especially those acts who are struggling to make ends meat. Just an opinion, you don't have to agree with it.
