Jimmy Lang recently put together a questionaire for Pat D.(bass player of Live) to answer. Its a pretty fun little survey:

Q&A w/Patrick
-------------
What's one thing you wish you could improve on in your bass playing??
A: Sometimes I wish that I would be able to play a bit less. The older I get I notice when bass is in the holes or an odd time or not at all. They always say"less is more".

What's the last CD/album you bought that you love?
A: I downloaded Govn't Mule's "Mighty High" and enjoy that alot but love???????? Hmmm......Mark Ronson's "Version" is a album I am listening to over and over.........love, hard to tell.

Outside of music, what are some accomplishment(s) that have given you the most satisfaction and why?
A: Being the father of three amazing children that are each very unique and all beautiful is good enough for me.

What do you like least about the music industry these days?
A: The music industry is just that, an industry. It's an industry just like all others that exist to make money. Money is king.........enough said?

If you could be the *SUPPORT* act for any band whether they still play today or not who would you pick and why?
A: I am tired of opening for bands! I would make a few exceptions..........(insert band names here).

Do you ever wish you could incorporate more 'stage dressing' in a show? (ie pyro-technics/screens/decorating)?
A: Nickelback can have all the pyro left in the world if they want it. I don't need any flames or percussion bombs to turn the house out. My house still isn't decorated so I can't imagine a stage that is dressed. Sometimes staging works..sometimes it doesn't. It all depends on venue, numbers, codes, personnel, cost effectiveness.....blah blah blah.

If someone had to take your spot for a show...who would be your first pick be?
A: Adam Clayton can handle my duties any day. I would love to hear his take on things.

You have the incredible luck of being one of the other band members for a day.. ...who and why?
A: I would be Patrick. I've heard that he lives in a mansion with servants. There's a private trout steam, recording studio, and beach pool with cabana. Let alone all of those cars.....can you imagine?

What do you wish you had invented?
A: Velcro

Favorite Star Wars character?
A: Han Solo....too cool!

What book(s) are you reading now?
A: Simply trying to answer all of Jimmy's damn questions!!!!!

What book(s) do you have out on your coffee table?
A: Mandela, authorized portraits and The Encyclopedia of Acoustic Guitars

Being on the road all the time, what is your favorite home cooked meal you miss?
A: I don't eat anymore. I've lost 50 lbs on the last year.

What was the best piece advice that you got from a family member (parent/grandparent)?
A: My grandfather once told me early on that we should play country music, "it's big" he said. I think maybe we should have or should play that ole country music.

What was your best subject in school?
A: I faked them all really well.

What household chores can you manage?
A: I can do it all, cook, clean, and I do windows.

Do you dance and if so...what is your fave tune to boogie to?
A: Lucky if I do the Robot or bob my head.

You have to burn all of your clothing but get to keep one piece...what is it and why are you saving it?
A: Why not burn it all, I don't need anything.

What/who inspires you? (could relate question to music, fashion, life, career, creativity, personality etc)?
A: Living a normal simple life and having friends that live in the "real world" motivate me in everything that I do.

What is your favourite store to shop? (could again relate to clothes, homewares, hardwares, plants etc)?
A: I don't have a favorite store and as a matter of fact I can't leave Target without the family spending over $400!?!?!?!?!?

Fave past-time around the house?
A: Sleep

The most famous person you have in your cell phone?
A: Who do you want to talk to exactly?

What person would you most like to meet?
A: The producer of our next studio album.

Finally the most important question - When do we get a new +Live+? album?
A: CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW? YOU R BREAKING UP.......................

whats with the questions? Is this guy the James Lipton of the Live world?

With virtually no news about upcoming releases, this Q&A was disappointing...especially the last question......

Its appears to be an old interview. Pat says he lost 50 lbs in the last year but he's been skinny for the last couple years. It seems this would place the intereview sometime in 2006 or earlier. If he would have lost 50 lbs since 2006 he would be near death.
