Presale for this date is now up on FOL Homespun.

I'm pretty psyched I'm going to be able to make this show. Never been to DC and this is a great excuse to check it out.

Anyone from the area been to the 9:30? Good club? Can anyone recommend any hotels in the area?

Yeah its awesome. I've been their many times. The sound and layout are great. The only drawback is that it is in a really shitty part of town. They have a parking lot now, so get there early so you don't have to park on the street in the hood.

"9:30 has been awarded Nightclub of the Year honors four times by Pollstar, the concert industry trade journal. And for most of that time, it has also been Pollstar's top ticket-selling club. In 2004, the 9:30 sold 236,112 tickets"

PS - Thanks for the info about DC. I guess if we're not going to stay in the area of the club, what is a good hotel in DC? I realize there's probably tons, but any guidance you can offer would be really helpful.

If you're going to this show in D.C., your best bet is to stay somewhere in the NW section, like the Foggy Bottom or Dupont Circle neighborhoods. D.C. is broken into 4 quadrants (northwest, southwest, southeast, and northeast). From what I know about the town, the NW section is by far the way to go. The 9:30 Club I think is on the edge of the NW section on V street in kind of a shitty area, but it's a pretty short taxi ride or maybe even subway ride (metro) over. You shouldn't have a problem finding a hotel........they're pretty abundant. Good luck. I'll be going to this show too. I live in Philly, but have the good fortune to be working nearby in Arlington VA that week. The 9:30 Club is a great room too for those of you never there.....worth the effort to make the trip.

By the way, anyone else notice that the price on the presale tix has gone from $20 to $35 dollars? I'm a little worried that ours at $20 aren't going to be valid... but nobody's contacted me about it...

Damn I'm fired up for this show! Last time I saw Live there they had just played the slot before Green Day at HFStival 2001. By the time they got theyre equipment over to the 9:30 and started the set it was 1:30 am. They busted a full set and the whole band was stoned. They claimed "it was the first time in a long time they had "turned it on 2 times in 1 day." " The next day they played again at hfstival opening with LJ which they had closed with the night before at 3am. 3 shows in 24 hrs!!!
